Quote (rocco @ Aug. 08 2004,12:10)
...the only player we would like is Stevie Gerrard maybe Kirkland as back up

If you need a back-up goalkeeper, you must be halucinating that Lehmann is any good. Lucky for him, there are players like Campbell and your defensive midfielders who cut-off the opposition attacks. Lehmann is the weakest link and his dependibility is comparable to calamity james when he was playing for us...

i agree with some of the people that say we cant turn a switch overnight and turn into premier league champions, we had a lot of players that under performed last season and with them on form we would improve immensely but our squad is very very bare at the mo with heskey cheyrou diouf babbel vignal le tallec murphy etc all gone this season, we have brought in 2 players which is not good enough we need more and i hope for rafas sake he has some big players up his sleeve cos if its another fourth place finish gerrard is gone end of story! :(

I think the top four will be tight, with MANU showing cracks and finishing 4th.
It's going to be winning or tying the regular games against the lower half of the table that will move Liverpool up, by consistently not throwing away points to teams we should have beaten. It's consistency that will get us 3rd or 2nd, or even 1st.We cannot beat Manu one week and then tie or lose to Fulham and Charlton. One point soon adds up to 30 . It’s amazing we played so erratically in 03-04 and still finished 4th.
Go Red or go home

For those thinking we're not good enough to finish top three (meaning we would finish maximum 4th -same with the last season), does that mean the arrival of the new manager (one of the best in europe) and Cisse (international highly rated strikers and proven) won't make any improvement to the squad? I am interested in the possible answer.

Surely any half decent manager/coach can improve on the way we have played for the past couple of seasons, given the squad that we have. It is not like all or most of the players are cr@p.

I believe that it just takes the addition of several new players to keep the squad competitive in fighting for places as well as adding to the team's abilities and a fresh perspective and approach from a coach who can change the team's tactics, playing technique and mental approach and we would surely show some improvement. I believe in Rafa and I also believe we have a core of good players, perhaps not excellent, but good nonetheless and is able to achieve more in the short term. There is no need to throw money around just to show our intent if the players available to us are not the right type of players for one reason or another.

Why does that post date say 2004 if it was just bumped today?

I'm just curious as to the number of changes because to jump from 18th to 2nd shows that nothing is impossible.

Forgot about Hustler - I think he was supposed to be a body-builder or something. Wasn't he supposed to meet Stu at one stage to sort things out man to man? :D
