Probably the best light entertainment show on TV I reckon and it's bits like the poor little fecker last night who was so nervous he could hardly stand, but then took a break and eventually got through to the next bit who make it. He comes out and falls into his Mums arms, "I got through Mum" cue a slushy bit of music and all in the World is OK. Similarly when they wittle the contestants down before the Live shows and they have to go home and tell their families they didn't make it. Cue "Fix You" by Coldplay. "Lights will guide you home" as they open the front door and collapse.
It kills me every time but then I've always been as soft as sh!te. Even the end of Planes Trains and Automobiles where John Candy joins Steve Martins family for Christmas dinner cracks me up. Tell the truth I'm filling up thinking about it lol.

It was well funny when that lad came out. There was his ma and kate thornton standing there. He blanked his ma and hugged thornton  :D

I'm afraid I've already been champed Taff mate. Ricky Shroeder and all that, done me in for a couple of days that did. "If you build it they will come" etc etc did the trick aswell. Don't know trhe "babe" one but I will avoid thanks for the tip. If anyone suffers from the same soft as sh!te affliction, I took me little lad to see "Over the hedge" and "Cars" and they had a similar effect aswell. His Nativity play killed me aswell come to think of it. I guess I'll always be more Gazza than Sounness when it comes down to it.

:D

What about the Big Brother letters from home bit.

I went to see a nativity play in Liverpool many years ago and it cracked me up " weve come to see the baby la "  " ders room in the barn " although everyone else in the audience, my mate and family included were just your typical proud parents :D

Serves them right for mocking my wonderful accent for years

 I know where you are coming from brother.

We did a test on a friend of ours who swore he would never shed a tear at anything televisual...we watched The Champ and he fell apart like a baby that just dropped his ice cream

Much of the money from this show comes from the phone-votes.

The actual "winner" really doesn't get much other than a chance to sing some forgettable cover versions, or original songs written by someone else (therefore they don't get the money), and a legion of teen girl fans who will simply faint and scream over whoever the pop music industry tells them is famous.

The "winner" is irrelevant.

It's the weekly stages that draw the profit.

If they really wanted to make the show worth winning, not only would the winner get a record deal, but would also get a one million pound prize, to do with as they wish.

So at least, if their career goes nowhere, they at least have something in consolation.
