Cisse's attitude!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Paul C » Fri May 21, 2004 10:12 am

He seems to want to wear the famous red shirt for the right reasons!!  :)

Auxerre striker Djibril Cisse insists Gerard Houllier's uncertain future makes "no difference" to his impending move to Liverpool.

The leading scorer in the French league this season is set to complete a £14m move to Anfield this summer and is determined to complete the transfer, whoever is in charge.

Reds boss Houllier's future is the subject of fierce debate at the moment but Cisse said: "From my point of view it does not matter if Houllier is at the club, absolutely not.

"I still want to go to Liverpool. Gerard Houllier's position makes no difference. I want to wear the shirt of this club. Whatever the position of Houllier, it will not change my attitude."

That's a good start then.  I can't wait to see if he's good for us.  We need at least 25 goals from him for £14 million.  This will be Houllier's last big gamble.  Cisse has to perform or it's Houllier's a.r.s.e. i'm afraid.

Saying that, he could be gone sooner.

I really think he will be a massive success for us!
Of course we will have to wait and see but he seems to have the right attitude and great ability!
With just a little luck he will bag 20 plus goals next year and that for me would class as a success for his first season!

That quashes the fears I had before. It all sempt that he was only coming to play for GH. Glad he's coming for the right reasons.

Talk is cheap, let's see (I hope) that he can walk the walk as well as just talk the talk.  :)

I agree, at least his talk is cheaper than his price.

This guy is great as far as what I've seen on the French League. I've seen most if the goals hes bagged in the net and some of them are sweet. One thing I do know is that he's not that type of player that can change the whole tean around.

WELL WITH CISSE COMING AND BANGING IN MORE GOALS THAN HESKEY (NOT HARD), GERRARD CONTINUING HIS FORM, KEWELL PLAYING TO HIS POTENTIAL AS HE HAS HAD A DIFFICULT SEASON, SAME WITH FINNAN, KIRKLAND GETTING A GOOD RUN IN THE TEAM, AND OWEN GETTING THE FINGER OUT, PLUS IF WE GOT MEXES AND A DECENT MIDFIELDER
I WOULD BE EXTREMELY OPTIMISTIC FOR NEXT SEASON!

A few weeks ago he said he'd reconsider the move if GH goes, he has obviously felt the tide has shifted. Nobody will tie themselves to a drowning man.

A lot of players want to play for Liverpool, the real question is is he good enough? Heskey didn't want to leave remember, I'm guessing a lot of our current players won't be moving to Madrid, manure, Juventus, Bayern Munich etc Birmingham is about right for Heskey, let's hope Cisse is right for us
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
