it does suprise me the lack of respect that some posters have for either the players or the other posters ,Liverpool supporters we know are or were famous throughout the football world for two things, one was passion of support and the other knowledge of the game, weaved into this was a sporstmanship second to none and although we could find it hard at times to except the result we tried to prevent the name of the club being dragged down by the media (and my god has it has it had its moments in the recent past) by displaying some form of grace in defeat.
The actions of an individual on saturday by throwing a mobile at a player was unexceptable irrespective of who he was playing for or his own actions,my mind often goes back to moments that made the name of Liverpool football club a name to be spoken of with such pride, these were not the 18 championships or the 4 european championships but moments in defeat when we showed the footballing world that it takes a supporters of a special kind to show grace after a defeat has taken place...Leeds the championship Anfield ...Arsenal the championship at Anfield only weeks after so many had lost there lives, also remember Brian Clough standing in front of a baying Kop with his fingers in his ears before the European tie only to walk away with the kop chanting his name.
I know there are many who will more than likely reply with witty onliners or maybe abusive as is becoming the trend on forums today but i do feel that although Liverpool the team is going through a transitional period the supporters shouldnt.
Maybe my views are a little rose tinted but iam proud to have supported this great club through the great days of Shankley to the present day from boys pen to the Spion Kop and iam also mindful that my actions wether they be in print or deed can damage the great name of Liverpool supporters, a name we should all try to protect for others to use
