Liverpool vs Villa 09/11/24 20:00 ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

"Diogo Jota will miss a sixth successive game for Liverpool, with the forward expected to return "one or two weeks after the international break" according to head coach Arne Slot.

Alisson, Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa also remain out, while Alexis Mac Allister is one yellow card away from a suspension.

Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans has ruled himself out of Belgium's upcoming fixtures due to an ongoing knee issue but he is expected to play against Liverpool.

Ross Barkley and Matty Cash are both still injured."

----------------------------------

Villa are in a bad run so good time to face them. Let's keep marching on and pile pressure on others. Last game then the international break, important we finish on a high.

Shitee115 are currently winning so a win for us is made just a bit more important.

A repeat of Tuesday nights performance will do me !! The Slot machine is on a phenomenal roll. Let’s just hope it continues.

It will be interesting to see if he persists with Diaz and Tsimikas or uses Robertson and Nunez ?

Hold yer horses, lads
City are always strongest the second half of the season
Even if they - hopefully - end the night 5 points behind us, they're absolutely not out of the reckoning

Darwin Nunez and Andy Robertson return as Liverpool make two changes for this evening’s clash with Aston Villa.

The duo come in for Cody Gakpo and Kostas Tsimikas in the only alterations made by Arne Slot from the midweek victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool: Kelleher, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Robertson, Gravenberch, Alexander-Arnold.

Subs: Jaros, Gomez, Endo, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Tsimikas, Quansah, Morton, Bradley.

If Brighton can hold on for a few more minutes we MUST DESTROY VILLA and lat down a marker. 5 points clear of City not even past mid November is dream land.

9 mins injury time -  :Oo:

Not sure what’s going on with Shitee115. I’ve always maintained that Rodri is a massive loss. Or just maybe they have received some very depressing news from the 115 case ??

Gakpo on the bench. Nunez starts.

It would be great to go into yet another international break five points clear !!

Man the league is wide open this season, anything can happen since City seem to be in a freefall.

I would have said a draw against Villa wouldn't be the end of the world, but after seing them getting battered by Spurs the other weekend and then losing agains Club Bruges, I think we should be able to beat them too, at Anfield at least. Will be a very difficult game though I'm sure.
