Liverpool Football Club - Games

Forest done a job on us today. With this style of play, sometimes feel like we could do with a quality playmaker to help unlock well organised teams.

We won't be as swashbuckling under Slot as it was with Klopp where we literally battered the door down against the opposition. Think we may need to find our own De Bruyne, Silva or Odegaard in the setup.

It doesn't stop unfortunately. Everyone today looked like they had no fight in them.

Really disappointing tbh to lose at home in a game that we should be winning. I don't think it matters if we kicked off at 12.30 either as it wouldn't have made a difference. The players looked the same as in sleepy and off the pace. Don't think Mac Allister has played one decent game after an international break, Same with Diaz.

The other managers in the league didn't know what to expect from Slot and always needed to see a few games in order to set up against it. I think that was part of the problem today. Mind you I only seen 10 mins of it and then listened on the radio but it sounds like Forest where defending well and cutting out a lot of through balls. We seemed to hit a lot of long balls as well that where easily dealt with. Caught us offside a good few times too.

Just not seeing it with Gakpo or Nunez tbh. They will pop up with a few goals now and then but both have no consistency and imo not hungry enough to go out and stake a claim to break into the starting 11. They haven't been getting many minutes so tiredness can't be an excuse for them. I think the same for the rest as well as the season has just started. A good few games coming up now so need to regroup and figure it out because these are last year problems.

Wasn't that what Szobozlai was brought for? He was terrible today and too inconsistent for my liking.

When Slot openly bragged about his tactics on live TV, it was cringed...was begging for him to STFU but dumb fans on social media defended him. Not sure what he was thinking but there was nothing to gain from opening his mouth and gave his tactical masterclass to all the other managers to figure him out much more quickly. 2 or 3 bad results and he will make Ten Hag look like a genius, then we will see what he is made of

Salah did not put one good pass to another player in red all afternoon, same for Diaz. Not worth to comment on Jota, Nunez, Gakpo and Jones today. About the only one who can held his head high is Gravenberch (and Virgil)

Anyone who say we over-reacted today need to grow a brain...this is Forest, at Anfield ffs. Nuno did his homework today...well done

Bitter loss, poor performances all over. Losing at home against Forrest if unforgivable. Anyhow as many said honeymoon period over and now the actual job begins. If this is how we are going to perform against low block sides then we need devine help.

Honeymoon is over, real work starts now.

Slot will be given time, but rolling over at Anfield for relegation fodder will not win him many friends with the fans.

Forest were always going to park the bus against us and we have always had trouble with those teams. Had either Diaz or Salah passed instead of shooting we would have won that match, selfish from those two considering we would not have got many chances against a team like that. Our losing was down to those two. I think the team got frustrated as the match went on and ran out of ideas. Didn’t like the look of 3 at the back after they scored as they got better and could have scored again.

In a sense it may be good we lost so we can go back under the radar, wasn’t feeling good about being labeled as contenders so soon in the season.

We have seen 20 plus games like that last year where we struggled to get in front or get back into it. Klopp was able to motivate the players and make the changes to get something from those games but didn't see anything from Slot yesterday to suggest he can replicate that. I thought Forest where well schooled and disciplined to how we would play and we walked right into that. Our best chance of a goal was from their keeper who almost fumbled it over his own line.

Chiesa should have been on that bench yesterday and Salah hooked after 50 minutes. Jota was awful and imo a luxury player who only shows up now and again. He's not good enough to be a starter and performs better from the bench. Gakpo and Nunez look worse this season and don't even show a desire to force their way into a starting spot. Both look totally useless imo and give less that some of the academy players would. Don't even get me started on Jones who is just out of his depth completely.

Slot has so far been very loyal to his starting 11 which he needs to rotate a bit more imo. He's said he's really happy with the squad he has and the quality in it so needs to get that coming through to the pitch in games like this. It doesn't bother me that we lost a game but it does when it's at home against Forest. We shouldn't be losing games like this and it will only encourage other sides to set up similar.

Good post mate, whilst any team can have an off day we cant sugar coat what happened Saturday too much because Virgil has been here 7/8 years now and that's only the third League game he's lost at Anfield. It wasnt just a bad day it was a really, really bad day. Talk about coming back down to earth with a bump.
All we can do now is react in the right way which means going on a long unbeaten run starting tomorrow against Milan. Lets hope that Forest game Saturday lives long in he memory as the only game we lose this season. Still gutted now, ruined my effin weekend that result.

We had two chances that we should have scored, both chances lost through selfish play. Diaz had both Jota and Szoboszlai wide open for a tap in but chose to not pass and wasted the chance and Salah on the other side also had a great chance to pass to an open man and also wasted he chance. One of those goals goes in and they can’t park the bus anymore and that’s a different game. As it was, it took a sublime shot to beat Allison. After that we went to three at the back and it’s where we looked shaky.

As disappointing as it was I’m not going to over react, we could easily have won that match had we just scored in the first half, it’s a game of thin margins and a goal against a deep block team would have changed everything.

I thought Darwin looked awful, the worst I’ve seen him. He looked like he has lost all confidence. Salah I thought was also awful, made so many poor passes that snuffed out our attack. It seems every match now we hear how their left back has been containing Salah well, he’s not the same player he was. We really should have sold him last year when the Saudis came for him.

On the plus side I thought Gravenberch did his job well again.

We had a good pre-season and a superb start to the season. Until the Arsenal game our fixtures were nicely set, all winnable. Ruined my weekend also because I thought we are going to smash them 4-0. Us Liverpool fans love to dream but I think we maybe pushing our expectations too high for this season.

Anyhow "IF" City are docked points, whoever wins the title will always have an asterisk next to it. If Arsenal do it other fans will downplay the title because they couldn't beat City in a proper way. Us guys will always point out that Klopp got 1 over pep without being helped.

City and their owners have messed up the EPL, ironically I don't think their punishment will be severe because all the clowns at the top are corrupt to the core.

Yup their goal was a good one and difficult for Alli to save. He couldn't even see Hudgson prior to his strike, konate was blocking his view. We feked up mate, a poor result.
