Who needs to go?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Are we seriously discussing about selling our (and the league's) second best goal scorer? For f*ck sakes, he and his 20 f*cking goals are a major reason why we are where we are. I would have killed for a striker like him few seasons ago. I don't disagree that he has some major flaws, but players such as Berbatov and Andy Cole who were also very limited players won league titles with their goals. Goals win games guys. When he stops scoring them we can start talking about shipping him out.

Some of the posts on here are idiotic!  We have a small squad and need to add players to it to help us compete on 4 fronts, not sell half of them.
You don't sell players that have contributed to a title challenge.  (Cissohko and Aspas possibly aside  :D  )

We challenged for the title back in 2002 and had a fairly poor season the following year.  Why?  Because we sold good players.

We challenged for the title back in 08/09 and had a poor season the following year.  Why?  Because we lost / sold good players.

Lets not make the same mistakes again.

Exactly. As I said, I'm glad those who are advocating selling Skrtel and Sturridge aren't the team managers. There's at least 8 players in the team, who should be sold before the duo. And if anyone wants to talk about attitude, look no further then Glenda Johnson, that little bitch. He was at fault for all 3 goals Palace scored. And he still tried to defend his performance, saying those who criticized his performance such as Fowler, are clueless or something.

Clueless!

No-one is saying they actually want to sell Sturridge.... what we are saying is that if it will benefit the first team we could understand cashing in on a player who has the tendancy to blow hot and cold depending on his mood swings!

going by Radio five we are set to off load 8 players?.....that's seems a lot when you think we don't have a big team. but have a lot of players in that list that are on loan.

we have 4 players on loan so say they are sold that leaves 4 more to go.
I would pick :
Agger .....for the money
Aspas
Enrique....seems always to be sick
Toure.....think he has been poor

I dont the logic of posters like you and Conn. The latter acknowledges we don't have enough quality on the bench but suggests selling Sturridge and Skrtel.

You acknowledge that we don't have a big squad but instead of suggesting we get rid of Ngoo, Sama, Lucas, Coates, Johnson and Kelly, you suggest selling Enrique, Agger and Toure. The only player I could agree with on your list is Aspas. We need quality on the pitch AND on the bench as well to compete in all 4 competitions next season.

The other 3 players apart from Aspas on your list are very good squad players at the minimum. And boy we have missed Enrique so much this season. Agger and Toure are one of the few leaders we have in the team and that's important seeing that both are central defenders and play closest to Mignolet who reminds me a lot of Westerveld and doesn't seem to have any leadership qualities.

I agree with you that Agger and Toure  are leaders in the defence.....but whats been our problem this year? THE DEFENCE.

But Agger has rarely played and when he does, we do better. Toure started off well and he's a great option to have in the cup competitions. And why would you wanna sell Agger and Toure while keeping Coates, Kelly and Johnson?

Agger has been unfit for sometime, we are paying a player that cant do his job most of the time, he is OK when he players but not outstanding. Johnson don't do much wrong but has become an easy target due to his twitter fights. Kelly could go I agree but I don't think we have seen the best of him and Coates......I forgot about lol

I said earlier I wouldn't be worrying about who to get rid of until I saw who we were getting.

Considering Rodgers is saying he is after quality not quantity and don't expect too many signings

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/9311100/transfer-news-liverpool-manager-brendan-rodgers-wants-quality-not-quantity

WIth that in mind besides sending Moses home, I probably only be getting rid of Aspas

I can still see us letting go the players we have out on loan.
the report on the bbc said 8 player, the 4 we have out on loan plus the one we have on loan , that leaves 3 players that we will get shot of.
Aspas is a given , so now we are down to two dead men walking.

What ONE we have one loan? We have TWO on loan and both should leave.
