2 games have gone - the table is meaningless right now.

I prefer to go back to the old days when they never used to show the table until 10 games have gone by - then it's starts getting serious

As Liverpool usually find out, the first 10 games is as important as the last 10 or middle 10. After the first 10 games we;re usually well out of the race and playing catch up. So they're equally as important therefore it really is okay to be positive about a positive start.

In this day and age in football, the league starts from day 1. None of the old 'I'll look at the league in a months time' stuff - any fan worth their weight would know this.

was only a season or two ago we we're down in the relegation zone after a handful of games, then it was a difficult struggle to climb out. At least by shooting to the top and trying to stay up there we'll drop a few places and still be in a good position. got to be a positive. Obviously not everyone thinks like we do and I'm sure it's grating away at some people that we've started so well.

in the "old days" the first table was always published in the pink echo after 2 games

The only people that a good start grates on is opposition fans.

I honestly don't give a squirt of P*** whether we do well in the Carling cup or not TBH. I'd much rather we give the top four a good crack. Other clubs don't take it seriously, so why should we!?

Only thing to look forward to in this tie, is to spank the manc's and not lose to them.

It's a meaningless trophy really.

It only appears meaningless to the Liverpool followers who never go to matches, cup finals etc......fans who spend every week looking forward to going to the game, whatever competition, seem to find meaning in every game especially cup finals.

So a competition that we have respected as a club and historically have done well in becomes meaningless. Exactly why do you think it is meaningless? Is the UEFA cup also meaningless? Was Houllier's treble meaningless? Lesser competitions possibly but to suggest they are meaningless is rubbish. Top four is a financial necessity in this day and age but it can never have the same thrill as going to Wembley and bringing home a trophy. Would you trade all of our LC trophies for Arsenal's and Man City's achievements in the CL.

the league cup didnt seem to carry too much weight when it came to kenny keeping his job, he won it the season he was sacked, it cant be that important.

As you well know Kenny was sacked for a number of reasons and winning the LC certainly wasn't one of them.
