LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED 23/09/12 1:30pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

We played really well today and with a better refereeing display would've won.

United were as poor as ive ever seen and were there for the taking.

Shelvey was wreckless but both he and evans gad studs showing and neither were in control. Only difference was the reaction. Shelvey got up with teeth gritted and Evans was crying. That made the ref's mind up. Weak refereeing.

Then there was more contact for Suarez's penalty claim than for the one he gave Valencia. Injustice again.

And lets not forget Van Persie's two footed lunge near the end. Were studs showing? Yes. Was he in control? No. Result? Yellow of course. You couldn't make it up.

It was a spirited display with some good football. But we lost again and badly need points on the board. 2 points from 5 games isn't good enough regardless of who the games are against and how well you play. We need to start being more ruthless and soon.

His statement and interview to SKY TV right now will be that the club will lodge a formal complaint to the PL for the bias referee display for 90 minutes at Anfield today.

And if he doesn't then he is just as niave as his teams display today.

Moan moan moan, getting bored of sad folk like you looking for people to blame.  Get back to your game of champ man.

lol yes could not work that one out myself.

Yea couldn't get my head around that.. PLays advantage when we're jammed against the sideline and nobody in the box with no time left...?  Give us the f*cking free kick and let it decide the game.

That low life ref should be sacked for being too one sided. Clubs should have the legal right to sue a referee for being bias.

Why are all these pundits and journalists pussyfooting around the fact that Johnson made NO contact on Valencia for the penalty? He slides in front of Valencia to block what he assumes will be a shot coming yet Valencia goes over without being touched. Its not "soft" or "controversial" - its blatant cheating, considering the moment he hit the deck he was appealing for the peno, when he wasnt f*cking touched.

Fox Soccer Channel's post game crew pointed it out, and as I said earlier they are hardly LFC shills.  Warren Barton was really on about both the pen and the Red card being bad decisions.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Glen Johnson went down in a very similar fashion. That wasnt given as the commentators pointed out he was already on his way down.

So please explain to me, why this is given.

They way we fought today is what football is about for me. Even though everything was against us we still managed to play the game right until the very end. That's why I love and support this club. It was disappointing that we lost, even more disappointing in the way that we lost and also losing apparently 5 players in the process, but as long as we keep fighting like this they'll have my support. YNWA lads, good display today.

Johnson did his job and got in front so Valencia just went over and Halsey obliged, naturally.

Im not one for banging on about refs he was shocking today that Halsey, a fact wasted on
the Sky panel.

I think United are that used to getting the calls they dont know a genuine shout from a poor
one these days and its so repetive its now accepted its as much a part of playing them as
switching ends at half time.

if its a A third degree sprain it could be gonne for a very long time and can often be a career ending injury but if its a first degree sprain he could be out for about 3 to 4 weeks.

but as i post this i hear its a bad one.

Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey talking about his red card in his club's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United:

"I apologise to the fans for getting sent off but no way was I pulling out of that tackle in a game of that importance. I am sorry.

"I have also apologised to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, just where I come from people don't grass people up to get someone sent off."

OK, my summary.....(I'm not going to go on a mad rant, don't worry),

Tried posting with my smartphone as the match went along, but couldn't get a signal in the pub!

I thought United were really poor first half, and played like they all had poo in their pants as they usually do at Anfield. Probably scared of the crowd :) Mind games!!!?

We all know the Ref is a Manc Sh*thouse, and those two decisions were both very wrong. (pen + sending off)

I just thought we played exactly like we have in the first four games, ineffective in the final third, and in the box.

Good goal from Gerrard, better goal for the equalizer.

I wasn't at all surprised with the score line. They have a better squad on paper, at the moment.

I thought, had we had Dirk Kuyt, Bellamy, and Maxi, or Aquilaini and Carroll today, we would have faired a lot better! Certainly been more of a threat up front.

2 points from 5 games, worst start since 1911. I don't wan't to upset anyone, but someone is to blame. It's not great is it? bottom three!
