I read the article, not the whole paper. I also read the Guardian and BBC news, does that make me a liberal leftie?

Try not to take the topic off course, it isn't about me. But then again, it isn't any surprise is it, you probably agree with the judge.

on the one hand the judged has fecked up. do the crime and do the time.... or at least pay the fine, do the community service, go in the stocks and get pelted with old vegetables, or whatever.

on the other hand you can't really argue with his point. it does take balls to go in and rob someone's house, however desperate you are.

Well, andy. Firstly I would like to say thank you for staying on topic  secondly what the judge said about prison is fair as it doesn't always rehabilitate even though IMO prison should be about punishment rather than rehabilitation.

To call a burglars act as courageous, is quite disturbing considering the position of the judge. Cultural Marxism theory applied here is that the perpetrator is almost lauded for his "courageous" and brave efforts in breaking in to someones house - the victim, in all of this (which the law is there to protect), gets to hear how courageous this asbo is, in breaking into his house. It's becoming a f.ucked up world. As SCS, and ydwywwedhweiuhqwuh both confirm, they're more prone to attack the paper relaying the news rather than the incident itself, perhaps they too find it courageous in breaking an entering, who knows.

More nonsense, I'm afraid. I'm simply keen to see that arguments in discussions of this nature have a firm grounding in the facts as they really are, not as you or anyone else would want them to be.
