Yes I know...... but 2 years is 2 years..... you could get a lot out of him in those 2 years and beyond...

At any rate, even if Henry was 31, I'd still take him over Shevchenko anytime.... The man's a joy to watch AND proven in the premiership to boot.....  :upside:

With the news that Schevchenko is wanting to come to England then maybe Mourinho will cancel his intrest in tevez...........then Liverpool could go for him, a quality player who I think would do wellf or us

Chelsea already put in a 22 Mill bid for Terez and were knocked back straight away. For that sort of money..... VILLA VILLAAAAA hheheheh

Hmmm top score of Brazilian League  (Do they play defence there ??)

or Second top scorer in Spain......  Ill let you decide

His wages alone would be astonomical to say the least.
But give Rafa another year and every kunt and his dog will want to join us.

Man Utd may be financial strong but it would be even difficult for them to acquire Shevchenko's services. The only team that can realisticly buy him is Chelsea unfourtanetly.

He probably wants another Champions League medal and perhaps to win the league in another country. Chelsea are the only team that can guarantee it more than any other side in the Premiership.

If we're gonna pay that kind of money then i'd rather go for Villa, he's younger and looks very very good.  But to be honest i don't think we've got a cat in hells chance of affording either of them :(

Maureen’s talking allot of guff about him, like he’s got his services already.

People say he's getting on a bit, but imagine how much he could benefit the club in the 3 years he could give us at his peak. The message it would send out to the rest of Europe, if we could secure a player of his reputation. Then if we could go on and win the premiership (I think we are only one or to good players away) it would surely be worth the wages.

Although it’s a huge gamble because if he doesn't make the grade, then we could be stuck with an over the hill striker paying out 100K a week.

Why are we discussing this?  Sheva is not going to sign for Liverpool - period.   He is friendly with Abramavich and only Chelski can afford his wages.

So the swap for Nando wasn't accepted then? :(   Shevchenko is up there with Shearer ,Batistuta and Rush and I have no doubts that he will be successful just wish we could afford him.
