Well, we'll certainly try our best to have someone standing sentry on match days.  The lockdown idea's been floated before but I don't know how to affect that kind of technical change to the board and those that do are keeping schtum so it'll have to be the old fashioned method of having a mod on duty as much as possible on match days (I make zero promises for our rivals' matches, though...there is a line that needs drawing! :D ).  I think we'll have to come up with a rotation system (sorry Mick :D ) for match day detail, though.  If any one individual was responsible for reading the match thread every week, they'd be on suicide watch inside a month! :D

A reminder folks: the new regs take effect tomorrow, as does the general card amnesty.

HOWEVER: anyone carded today will have their case scrutinized by the Mods and may not be granted an amnesty with everyone else tomorrow.  There seems to be a few people who have a notion that they can get their shots in today and still have their account wiped clean tomorrow.  Rest assured, the Mods will take a dim view of that kind of gamesmanship.

I suppose the new rules have well and truly kicked in now, and I hope they go well.

I welcome too the amnesty on cards, and without question I'll welcome back people like Barry who have been on the sidelines for a couple of days. Equally, some other posters who have found their cards inhibiting them like an ASBO leg shackle will no doubt welcome the freedom to fully express themselves, clearing their throats for a cobweb removing volley.

For my part, I got a wee heads up this week about the barbish nature of some of my posts and after consideration have realised that probably I've been a bit guilty of getting my retaliation in first on occasions, and I'll do me best to curtail that a bit.

As the song goes "I can't help the way that I feel" so it would be untruthful of me to say that I didn't hope that all genuine Liverpool fans are given equally sympathetic considerations with regards to coming back in the furture, but for now I hope the rules have the desired effect and the forum becomes better for it.

Hi folks,

Be advised that there have been a few slight modifications made to the new regs concerning:

1) the quoting of abusive/offensive posts
2) members with multiple accounts

These are in response to some situations which have cropped up in the past week or so and are inserted to clarify the board policy on these minor issues.  If you're curious to review the changes, you can find them in the "posting tips" section of my post in the "Forum Rules" thread, which is pinned at the top of each forum on the board.  We hope to keep these kinds of revisions to a minimum but they become necessary from time to time.  We will, of course, notify you whenever the regs have been modified, as I'm doing now.

I'd also like to add that, minor hiccups aside, things seem to be functioning smoothly under the new regs.  So thank you and let's keep it up!
