Fowler rubs in Aussie Ashes woes
Former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler is up to his usual tricks at A-League club Perth Glory, rubbing in Australia's Ashes woes as England close in on a series victory.
Fowler, a friend of former England Test captain Michael Vaughan, paraded and repeatedly kissed a replica Ashes urn before Perth's 0-0 draw with Gold Coast in Queensland on Monday night.
England lead the series 2-1 and will retain the urn even if Australia win the last Test in Sydney.
"It's not every day we get the chance to retain the Ashes in Australia so it was just a little reminder to show everyone where they are going to remain for the next two years at least," said Fowler, a renowned joker who attended the Tests in Brisbane and Perth.
"I've really enjoyed being in Australia for series and I have to confess my Australian teammates are really quiet again.
"To be honest, you wouldn't know the final test is on in Sydney because my teammates have not said a word about the cricket since Boxing day."
Fowler, who has scored nine goals for the Glory this season, made headlines across England late last year when he claimed Perth were set to sign Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.
But it has been far from a laughing matter for Perth on the field, with the club sitting nine points adrift of the finals-bound top six with just seven games remaining.

It's as bad as I've seen it in a long time and the Rugby team isn't as strong as it used to be either, what is going on with Aussie sport at the moment?

genuinely surprised with how poor the aussies have been in 4 out of the 5 tests.
Their bowling attack has consistently struggled and key men that they could usually rely on havent performed.
Clarke and Ponting especially.
Only Hussey has consistently batted well.

unbelievable performances from England, to win the 3 tests by an innings in Australia is something that will probably never happen again.
I was very disappointed with the presentation and the general sportsmanship of the aussies.
Why did Vaughan present the urn
And the fact that Cook wasnt given his man of the series medal until 15 minutes afterwards was poor too.
It was obviously not a nice feeling for the aussies to be walloped at home but a bit more humility would have been nice.

Now now , please be careful my Liverpool comrades. I wouldnt want you to hurt yourselves if that national bandwagon you are all jumping on collapsed under the weight
Totally outplayed by far superior outfit and Im rather disappointed in the way we took our defeats
