my old high school had a major fire when i was in 4th form. About 25 classrooms and 3 or 4 satffrooms were absoutley destroyed by the fire, my mate lost his discman as he had it confiscated on the friday before the fire that weekend, and the teacher left it in her satffroom , and well that room burnt down!

they had to bring all these portable clasrooms in while they rebuilt which took 2 years, they are prtty sure it was an arsonist as well, cos their were 2 other school fires around the area in the same week. but they never found the culprit, we got a week off school though.    :D

peewee, here is the story from the echo about your old school.

Firefighters battle blaze at school May 10 2005

Liverpool Echo

A HUGE fire swept through a derelict Liverpool school today.

Seventy firefighters attended the blaze at the former Lister Drive primary school in Fairfield.

The fire, which was contained in one three-storey building on the campus, was reported at 7.25am.

Gary Owens, who lives nearby, said: "The school is totally gutted it is still blazing and the roof is about to fall in.

"There have been fires there before but not as bad as this one - the flames are 40ft high and there is a lot of black smoke."

He said police had blocked off Lister Drive as the 10 crews from across the city fought to contain the fire.

The school has stood empty for around three years.
