Dangerous is one of his best albums and that came out in 1991.

Would his fans on this thread rate him on the same level as Elvis, the Beatles, Sinatra and Bing Crosby (for his time obviously)?

Im not really a big fan of his but I suppose that for his time he would be in the same bracket as them, i mean what single artist was he up against in the 80s?

Madonna?
Prince?

I dont think so...

I think they would. I like his music but would not consider myself a "fan".

He is considered icon for his era and genre, just as the likes of Elvis, Sinatra and the Beatles were for their era and genre. He wouldn't of sold so many records and maintained such a high profile if his music could not stand the test of time.

Its easy to forget that very few artists are considered iconic whilst they are alive, it is when they die that their value and reputation rockets. I think if it was Madonna who was to pass away tomorrow, similar reactions would be seen.

I'll listen to the guy with the guitar over any MJ stuff. I think if he wasn't so weird he'd just be a guy with a massive record 25 years ago - kind of like the Bee Gees.

ONLY

He has many a great records, hes got about 10 brilliants songs and someone who sells millions of singles and albums isnt just great becos he was 'weird'

Billie Jean
The Way You Make Me Feel
Bad
Smooth Criminal
Thriller
Beat It
Wanna Be Starting Something
Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough
The Way You Make Me Feel
Man In The Mirror
Off The Wall

And that's only to name a few, he was more than just one song or one album and he also wrote most of these himself, not like the likes of the Justins and the Britneys of the world who are nothing but puppets for there record label

:D  :D  :D

The way you make me feel,so good u had to mention it twice?
