scalectrix, it's all i ever wanted as a kid but never got it so would love to get some "closure" as yanks would say

on second thoughts f*ck closure, i just wanna race little cars around and make 'em crash 'n' stuff

the thing is with scalextrix though, is that it looks the absolute effin business in the box, like its just bursting with excitement. setting it up makes you breath a little faster, the smell of electricity when the cars first start moving... all brilliant. but then after ten minutes you're bored s.hitless and can't be @rsed walking across to the other side of the room again to put the feckin car back in the slot.

thats when you have to start digging the toy soldiers out and putting them in the middle of the fast straight to see how spectacularly you can take em out.

i was walking around a different part of town the other day and found a grown mens scalextrix club with a massive plate glass window onto the street. they had an 8 lane circuit, must have been a good couple of hundred feet of track - and several bored as feck looking sad @rses in sweat stained nylon shirts and sta-pressed trousers. put me off for life, mate.
