No way Reg - England are 1-4 with Bet 365 and Australia 7-2.

That seems about right.

To be perfectly honest if England declared overnight (I'm not suggesting they do it obviously) I don't think Australia would be favourites to get what was left for them (about 230). England ought really to be able to get another 70 or so at least, and 300 on there batting fourth would be just about ungettable I think. If Panesar was playing as well, 200 would be ungettable as you'd just park the spinners at both ends and crowd the bat. Australia's only hope IMHo is to bowl England out sharpish (and leave themselves 270-290 to win) and then come out all guns blazing. If one guy can get a big score (even 80 or so) and they can get close enough to make England nervous (within about 200 should do it :D ) then it might be closer than it ought to be.

If we do win though it'll be a strange one, as I think Australia have conclusively proven they are the slightly better of two average to reasonable teams. Their batsman have been better, their bowlers have been better and they have fought better. Us winning four tosses to one has been massively significant, as has the the fact that they've been on the end of nearly all the bad umpiring decisions. Having watched the series avidly, I'd give us around a two in ten chance of beating them in a five match series, and it maybe we are about to see one of em.

This is proving a belter of a bowling pitch.

234 ahead with just 3 wickets down in the 2nd innings, a massive lead.

Basically, as Mick said, whoever won the toss for this last test wins it.

Good start by Strauss and Trott - I think they can afford to loosen up a little now.

Provided England don't have a mad couple of hours where they decide to bowl short for no apparant reason (which lets be honest is entirely possible) it should be a formality from here. Unfortunately, we continue to cover ourseleves in the opposite to glory though where sportsmanship is concerned. Ponting gets one in the kisser while at short leg, bounces up and is spitting blood out without so much as a whimper, and fecking dickheads in the crowd are cheering. Cricket used to be one of the final bastions, the final frontier of tidemarks where w@nk jobs, t0ss pots and toolpieces hadn't quite manageds to permeate. Unfortunately, it seems that even there their combined chaverosity has finally won the day :( .
