Not spending all day digging out links, but here are a few you may not have heard of but should definitely have listened to at least once before you die

Tenpole Tudor - Swords Of A Thousand Men
Donna Summer - Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)
Toto Coelo - I Eat Cannibals
John "Cougar" Mellencamp - Jack And Diane
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
Belle Stars - Sign Of The Times
Seona Dancing - More To Lose
Michael Sembello - Maniac
Murray Head - One Night In Bangkok
Wierd Al Yankovic - Eat It
Shannon - Let The Music Play
Strawberry Switchblade - Since Yesterday
Neil - Hole In My Shoe
Opus - Live Is Life
Phil Lynott & Gary Moore - Out In The Fields
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Dream Academy - Life In A Northern Town
Dream Academy - Please, Please, Please (Let Me Get What I Want) Instrumental
Animotion - Obsession
Bruce Hornsby & The Range - The Way It Is
Man 2 Man Meets Man Parrish - Male Stripper
Mental As Anything - Live It Up
Mory Kante - Yeke Yeke
Adventures - Broken Land
Jack 'N' Chill - The Jack That House Built
REM - Orange Crush
Fuzzbox - Self!
1927 - That's When I Think Of You
London Boys - Requiem
Cry Before Dawn - Witness For The World

I'm surprised more of those haven't been covered or re-released. Just saw someone list the Breakfast Club to get on DVD, the soundtrack to that and "the soundtrack that never was" to Ferris Bueller's Day Off are recommended listening - Oh Yeah (Yello)

the lotus eaters

One of the best of the 80's, that's for sure.

Liverpool had some great bands in the 80's.

For Album of the decade it's between U2's Joshua Tree or Stone Roses (IMHO)

For the memories it gave me, a student in Newcastle - Stone Roses

I Wanna Be Adored

It's funny how brain works. This morning I got up with this song in my mind, I dunno what I was dreaming.

Normally I'm not fan of Brazilian music, but this was a total hit around here:

The Lambada

Almost in the nineties, but it was 1989. Great summer song, and a very sexy dance to watch (I wonder how good would be our avid dancer BadBob with this :D )
