..for songs by liverpool groups.
i`ll start off with a couple from tocky`s (Toxteth) finest - the real thing.
because these fella`s are so soulfull a lot of people think they are from philidelphia or somewhere else in the states but they are born and bred scousers. the lead singer (chris amoo i think his name is) had a f**king unbelievable voice. here`s two of their huge hits from the 70`s.

a couple of tunes by a little known but influential liverpool group of the late 80`s that were a big influence on oasis, `the real people` even helped oasis record their first demo and helped them out with backing singing and lyrics.

good lads, the real people. a band i used to mess about with back in the day shared rehearsal space with them and the bunnymen in an old warehouse down by the docks. i bumped into tony the drummer at a funeral a few weeks back. he's obsessed with lawnmowers now.

Some great tracks there Yaka, thanks mate.

Pete Wylie hs a real distinctive voice, how many times did we play 'The  Story of the Blues' in the uni bar? (The Mighty Wah!) - stay listening for part 2. Where's Igor, he'll love at that revolutionary Sh*t.

thanks reg.
andy what was the name of the rehearsal space you used? it wasnt those vulcan (or something like that) rehearsal rooms was it?
and werent the real people a bit like oasis in the sense that a couple of brothers used to be the driving force behind the band (write all their songs etc)?

some other scouse classic`s....

it wasn't vulcan, no.... but it was just around the corner from there. it wasn't an official rehearsal space, just a warehouse space that the bunnymen and some of their mates owned. us and the real people rented out other parts of it, and we turned another floor into a short lived club and party space.

chris and tony are the brothers that started the band and do most of the songwriting. they are still putting stuff out and writing for other bands as far as i know.
