just 3 days into 2011 and another great has shuffled off this mortal coil.

one of my all time favourite actors and an incredibly humble, thoughtful and genuine person, pete postlethwaite has died at age 64 from cancer. i guess most people will remember his amazing role as kobayashi in 'the usual suspects' but his career has spanned many excellent and varied films. he was just as at home on the stage as on the screen, and its sad to know we'll never see him bring another character to life.

RIP pete.

Such sad news!  He was brilliant in "In the name of the Father".

Pete Postlethwaite was a true cinematic legend in every sense of the word ,his many films were diverse ,but in each one he breathed life into the role ...an actor whose natural talent  shone in every character he portrayed ,possibly along with Daniel Day Lewis my favourite actor ...I dare anyone who watches the film Rat ,not to be moved by Postlewaite's  genius and the genuine warmth he delivered to the character

Pity that.

Just watched 'The Town' the other night. Didn't know he had cancer.
