Wife desperate to quit the dreaded weed...used patches etc but she succumbed to temptation. A friend of hers suggested hypnotherapy, which she is quite happy to try but I'm a sceptic and I don't want her to be doing something that in my opinion may invariably lead to a dissappointment again...
Has anyone tried hypnotherapy or have positive information about it...?

i had a course of hypnotherapy between the ages of 16 and 17, not for smoking but for another thing. i can't say i applied myself to it 100% because the therapist had a ridiculous lump of cheap black carpet on his head for a wig. every time he told me to close my eyes and imagine myself walking through a beautiful relaxing garden i kept seeing his wig amongst the trees.
helped me loads though, in all seriousness.

i have two sisters who tried to quit smoking. One used a hypnotherapist and failed to quit, the other took full responsibility on herself, no cop outs, and stopped drinking for months (more tempted when drinking) and hasn't smoked in 15 years.
I think a person needs to accept full responsibility, no hypnotherapists, patches, nothing - just fukking do it cold turkey style.
