The most knowledgable poster ,a man who witnessed Liverpools phenomenal rise under Shankly who was steeped in Liverpool tradition and talked more sense than any poster on this forum ..Old Red eyes where did he go ? I miss his honesty and his tales of Liverpools glorious past .
He was like a Grandad you could visit who would enthrall you with his insight and genuine love for this great club of ours .
His posts are sorely missed on this forum .  :(

The other day I was using the search button just for the sake of reading him.

I do that with other posters I miss like Drummerphil.

When I became a regular user OldRedEyes was mentioned by someone, and started to read his posts, but he already wasn't posting any more and it's been a while since then. He was an aged man and it was a credit for this forum to have a member that could remember so many years of fandom.

I'm afraid that many won't remember him now RBG, such is the ephemeral nature of us posters in a forum. He hasn't posted for ages.

I really enjoyed Old Red's posts. A real old school gentlemen of a fan I thought, knowledgable and humble with it. I really hope he's still watching the game and talking footie every weekend...

I just checked he last posted on June 09 2004,21:33

Nearly 5 years ago, i just red some of his posts and in one of the topics there was talk of us buying Luis Enrique. Old red eyes replied "Chelsea have just offered £600million and a bag of chips for him"

:D

Perhaps Some Old Red Eyes needed some Red Beer Goggles at some point?  :D

I just think this forum Sabre ,would benefit from a blast of tradition, and maybe just bask in a time when older posters would beguile us with their stories and insights :D

I'd agree that. One of the reasons I came here is to read this stories of people who went and goes to the stadium. Away travels, old stories, anecdotes, etc. Nanny brings some of those (she's young but veteran). Old Beer Googles did. Dalglish (the Anorak did). Leon did. I also liked a member called ystmclamb, or something (sp?).

Too many good posters not posting much or at all, and remembering people like ORE or Drummerphil is a good idea. What we write is newkit after all, and it's not bad to have some  reminders of the best.

I remember that guy Sabre, he was one of the better posters imo, haven't seen him post in ages.

I don't think this place will get any better in the foreseeable future, too many personal vendettas.  I've had my share of rants over the years on here but this is the worst the place has been imo - and I've been posting on here for 6 years now.  Until the club ownership is sorted and Benitez's future is resolved it won't get better, people understandably have really strong feelings on these issues and they get vented on here.

Wasn’t there a poster called ‘Toben Picknics Y Fronts’ years ago?

Oh how he is sorely missed :D
