Probably should have thought of a better title in current MB climes but what the hell

Anyway i'm getting my long service leave next year and am making another visit to the UK home of my ancestors after a break of 23 years and looking for any tips or suggestions for places to visit. (obviously not any dregs of places filled with those unmentionables .....no not immigrants Enoch im talking about Manchester )

Besides obvious the return to Anfield (the first and only time I was there standing in the Kop, Johnston and Molby were knocking a couple in against Charlton on our way to the double so heres hoping its an omen) is there any places in the north especially out of cities worth a look . Also does anyone know whether you need to book the Anfield tour ?

Any suggestions serious or comic are gladly welcome

(going to be a big year as I have a mate's wedding in Mauritius to attend and hopefully a sarfari in South Africa next year as well)
Any tips from anyway in those places also gladly accepted

If you're going to SA , the Kruger National Park is the Daddy of all safari "parks". It's about the size of Wales.

Best city in SA by a country mile is Cape Town.

If you have the time a recommended trip would be to drive the "Garden Route" from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town (approx 500 miles) . Beautiful scenery and some nice spots you can stop off at along the way.

A truly stunning country but be careful as to your personal security where ever you go in SA. Worlds highest carjacking and rape and second only to Columbia for murder.
