Football bet nets small fortune
A gambler who placed a £10 bet on the weekend's Premiership football results has won £180,000.

The lucky punter, who wants to remain anonymous, placed the 18,000 to one bet at the Coral bookmakers in Sawston, Cambridgeshire.

He had predicted the outcome of eight of the 10 Premiership games being played around the country on Sunday.

It was an equalising Liverpool goal at Anfield, against Charlton, that secured the big prize.

Striker Harry Kewell equalised in the 90th minute giving his team a two-all draw and the punter eight correct predictions out of eight.

A Coral spokesman said: "The Liverpool game was the key one because they were losing and if Kewell hadn't scored he'd have won nothing."

so the guy won the equvilent of two weeks wages for kewell    :D

fair play to him

Thats not a bad pay out for 8 teams ! I do a pound accumulator online at Ladbrokes every weekend  depending on the odds 15 teams can get you 250,000 ive been one result away from winning it twice :(

So he got odds of 18000-1 on predicting the outcome of 8 premiership games?!

How so?  ???

Stupid bookies?

That seems crazy, I wouldn't even offer those odds for Accrington Stanley to win the Champions League!

I know that but even when I've done an accumulator with loads of teams the odds are nowhere near 18000-1, do you mean predicting the EXACT scorelines of each match, that may come close to 18000-1.

Its easily possible, ive just done a 8 team accumulator and the payout from a one pound stake is 173279.32

Home/Away OR Draw format

if you win at 7-1 with a quid, you'd get £7, then that put onto an 8-1 would give £56 and so on till you had 3000 on say 6-1.

its simple math

It was the correct scores of each game, how lucky was that huh? You wouldnt see that in a million years -or so I thought.
Its hard enough picking 8 results win lose or draw, but that is truly magnificent -fair play to him. :buttrock
