You have a debate, a comparison between the Maradona and Messi's goal, a downloadable version and opinions about the goal in the international football section, mate.

On "Goals On Sunday" today with Rob mac and Kammy, they showed the Messi goal with a split screen alongside Maradona's in '86..... The comparisons are quite uncanny and both are truly great goals.
The main difference though is the fact that Maradona's was in a World Cup Qtr Final against a decent (for a change) England side and Messi's was against Getafe and one of a 5-goal hammering..... Diego's is still the benchmark......

Agree 100%,

Af first glance on youtube I saw Messi's goal only and thought that it was a con and was maradonna's goal (paranoid cynic that I am) as it was so similar.

Can you stop bringing everything back to your beloved Argie ?

We all know you adore him, so we'll leave it there shall we.

no doubt maradona was a talented footballer but he can never be described as a role model to be fair.

Maradona was suspended for 15 months in 1991 after a failed doping test for cocaine in Italy, and then again for ephedrine during the 1994 World Cup in USA. hardly the type of guy for youngsters to look up to

Different class opposition to what Maradonna faced, but no doubt in my mind that Messi's was the better goal.

Awesome goal, but the defense was terrible.  Did anyone even try to put a tackle in?

Yes, the first player, and that was the first mistake, he should have tried to hold him. There are some times in which you don't have to tackle, but keep on front the player trying to hold him. (I don't find the word sorry)

Schuster their coach was angry, he said that if he was in the pitch he'd give a kick, yellow card, and everybody happy.

He has a point IMO.
