The time machine thread - Set the controls:

We've all seen or at least heard of Sci-Fi films like the 'Back to the Future'  trilogy and  'The Time Machine'  amongst many others. Most of us have grown up learning about the exploits/adventures of the long running series 'Doctor Who'  (and btw Tom Baker, owned  the part).  Stories of 'U.F.O' sightings and tales of 'Alien-abduction' are dubiously accepted as commonplace in a world which strives ever more for the answers to these tales of folklore handed down throughout the centuries...the stuff of legend indeed!   but are they the substance of reality?.....well thats another thread.  (any serious students of the 'time travel' concept can argue amongst themselves in here):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_travel

But what if, you were given the opportunity (and your very own T.A.R.D.I.S)  with which to do a little research of your own, strictly of course for the pursuit of wisdom and the benefit of mankind....you are not allowed to alter history in any way, shape or form. Only to bear 'witness' to its chronological unfolding.

So, here are three questions id like you to answer, presuming you have completed the necessary safety checks and all computer telemetry/propulsion systems analyses etc..are reporting 100% operational capacity.... strap yourselves in, lets fire up the thrusters. and set our controls to slingshot around the heart of the sun:  :)

on your 'hyperdrive' control input terminal, just up a bit and to the left hand side of the central panel - (next to the 'pulsing' green lights) - yes, thats the one!.... enter the following three co-ordinates which correspond to the destination/date/events of your choice, if you would:

1) the place you wish to visit

2) the date/time

3) the event/history

thankyou all and enjoy the ride....let us know what you see.

year 0 would get you his birth, ud have to wait around 36 years for his death.

ok, me?

1) the place you wish to visit - Spike Island

2) the date/time - early 1990

3) the event/history - The Stone Roses Gig

I was only 14 and didnt go to the gig, but would love to. also, an early nirvana gig would have been cool or the free gig in manchester the sex pistols did
