Thats not text speak, thats 'leet speek'. Its used by kid gamers online in games such as CSS and lately CoD and CoD2, most likely other games too but they are all i play.

Lol well story goes it was invented by hackers in the 90's to talk in if they thought the FBI was monitoring them but obviously it was easily cracked in the end and then as it became known geeky kids started to use it to be cool.

Lol it isnt text speak really, its gamer nerd speak!
Text speak is shortening words down so theyre quicker and easier to type, that just translates it into the load of sh.ite that computer geeks use!
Im against really bad text speak like but im okay with text speak to a certain extent, i use it myself occassionally and dont find it hard to read as long as its not awful
