So how is your country doing in the Commonwealth Games??

In all honesty, I think this whole carival is just a big yawn and a total waste of time and money. Irrelavent is a word that comes to mind.

Yer, England are doing good but I'm not really interested to be honest. I only ever watch the olympics when it comes to stuff like this.

It's cool Igor.

I'm with you it is a bit of a yawn. In fact I had to go search to find out what the medal tally was, had no idea really.

The newspapers are trying to stir up a frenzy of patriotic support mbut they couldn't even sell all the seats to the opening ceremony (5000-10000) tickets unsold...apparently.

Looking forward to the London Olympics though. Might make the trip to see that one!!!    :;):

Now yer talkin ace. They'll probably use our new stadium for the footy in the olympics. You've gotta try and get over to Anfield before it's gone.

Lol -Laza, when the event only lasts a few minutes at most I guess the commentators feel they have to cram a whole lot more in...

Both the Olympics and the Commonwealth games put me to sleep... I dont mind some of the Winter Olympic events though, because they're a bit different I guess...

I like Olympics Theo because its far better competition,
Commonwealths game just turning into too much of smugfest for my liking
I love my country doing well as much as next guy but all this flag waving over the top stuff just puts me right off  when you look who we actually beating

Spot on Laza.

I'd prefer to see us win 8 gold medals against top quality opposition (at the Olympics for example) rather than flogging St Kits & Nevis or Nuidat Island or some other obscure outpost in hockey, netball or cycling. BORING!!!

Besides, the health system could do with the money this type of showboat sucks up...yes, I understand it bring in the tourist dollar but noty to any great degree.
