What has this country come to?

just heard on the radio that a guy has become the youngest magistrate in the country at the age of 20. infact now you can become a magistrate at 18. last year it was 27.
has this country become mad or what?

mate, ive met some 18 years olds with more sense than a bus full of 50 year olds,
the age shouldnt be a bar, lets see how the guy performs then judge him

Actually might not be a bad idea!
A lot magistrates are too old,live secluded lives and are borderline eccentrics!
Therefore having a warped old fashioned veiwpoint and no sense of modern day life!
18 does sound a bit too young but,he's probably one of them freaks that done his 1st Gcse when he was 5 and loves watching countdown and university challenge!
18 going on 50 i'd say!!
