Ipod battery - Why are they so ******?

I've had my ipod mini for about a year now and the battery life on it is absolutly rubbish now!

It never seems to be able to charge to full even if left all night on the charger.

Plus i have one of them itrip radio things for it, but now if i try and use it, it seems to drain the battery staight away and will only last for about a max of ten mins!!

The battery is internal so you have to send it back to apple for them to replace it and it costs!!!

Arrrgh!!
Anyone else having the same problems??

NO

i let mine run down much of the time, then recharge it. unlike some who keep recharging regardless, thats why batteries dont last as long

yes

read the instructions carefully when recharging, then the life of the battery will last longer mate, ok :)

Returning the Ipod to Apple would be a good idea but they'll CHARGE you (get it?),

anyway, dont have an iPOD over it, you'll only feel RUN DOWN! (dohh!)

sorry, these puns are a bit FLAT, I know.....

.........taxi!

I've been an Apple owner for about 6 years now, I've had 2 ibooks, powermac, and a macmini, I've also had 2 ipods, the 20gb ipod I had a few years ago was great but as you say the battery was w3nk but the battery on my 1gb ipod shuffle is great.

In all the years Apple have been making stuff they have only really had 2 major problems with kit; the logic board on the ibooks and the battery with the ipods :(

if you have the  lithium-ion battery powered ipod and you want to sustain logevity in it ,the best way to achieve it is to never complety drain it,if you leave it topped up a bit all the time the battery life will be longer.i have had  three ipod,s 60gb ,the first one i purchased in febuary :censored: up after 2 months and was left 15gb harddrive ipod, the second one would not recognize my computer and wouldnt format  and had to replace it with another, the present one i have had for three months and has been fine.if you have problems with your ipod i suggest you go on apple,s  ipod forum, there is loads of ipod geeks on there who can give advice on anything

Apples have notoriously bad batteries.

I have a Creative Zen 30gig, and it has a decent battery.

Like Judge said, the general rule of thumb is that with battery recharging, you really need for the battery to run out before charging, otherwise they will wear down quickly.

paul, your question is badly written, what do you mean??

are the batteries bad?, or are you asking what are they made from??

my little mp3 player (Napa 1Gb) runs on those tiny little batteries (y'know the ones - like walkman ones but smaller) - it only takes one battery and it lasts for a good week of heavy use on one. Bearing in mind a pack of 4 costs about £2 you can shove your rechargables up yer arse  :eyebrow

I won one of these in work recently - and gave it straight to the missus.

Sorry, but lads just look seriously queer with one of them, I couldn't possibly keep it.....
