I love Kanye and was unsure about Diamonds from Siera Leone but the album mint, sheer producing genius, the beats and lyrics are fantastic, I'd advise anyone who likes hip hop or music like this to get it NOW!

:bowdown  :eyebrow  :nod  :buttrock  - thats all I have to say

Have to disagree there, the lyrics are are as good if not better, and I deffo think that the production is better  :bowdown

I personally feel that Kanye is a better producer than the likes of Timberland and the Neptunes  :buttrock

I like the couple of songs I have heard, better than the usual "i have cash, cars and loadsa birds" lyrics that those brainless rappers usually do- why don't they learn to play an instrument?

Niall Niall Niall, will you please open your eyes, ok a lot of Hip Hop is shit3 these days but the likes of Beastie Boys, Kayne West, etc aren't just about guns, money, rims, etc and you only have to look at the way he dress to see that, for fooks say the guy is well known for wearing Louis Vuitton rucksacks.

Yeah ok their are rappers that do talk about the bad side of life but thats because of the things they have seen growing up, not all rappers rap about the same things, it's like saying rock musicians all sing about the devil  :;):

When you say about learning to play an instrument you make it sound like it's really have to be a genius, lol, if someone put you in a studio and said "their you go Niall, create me a No1 beat/loop" then I'm sure you wouldn't know what to do  :eyebrow

Paul - I said I like the songs from Kanye West that I heard. I'd say about 10% of raps (songs?) are about something but most are about some guy with 10 women all around him, throwing money in the air and trying to be a pimp (since when is being a pimp good?)

They are selling a lie as they don't have that life.

Marvin Gaye etc sang "whats going on" which was an equivilant to "imagine" i.e. about something.

Rap makes out that the guy with a minimum pay job is a loser and the "player" or "gansta" is the guy with the life to emulate. great message man?
