Congratulations Manchester United.

After 28 years of trying, you've now finally won more European Cups than Nottingham Forest.

in the cold light of day i can honestly say *gulp* i'm glad it wasn't chelsea that won it. not to say that i'm happy the mancs did - fukkin hobson's choice if ever there was one. as a group of current players i find the chelsea mob, man for man, more distasteful than the others. the reality of that disgusting thug and arrogant nobhead john terry lifting the cup and handing it to 'i'm better than gerrard me' lampard would be too much to bear. at least i know that the mancs are highly unlikely to catch us in european cup wins and at least ronaldo missed his penalty. at least drogba got sent of, and at least they didn't provider a classic match and won't have won many more fans.

glad the whole thing is over and done with.

Manure will equal LFC's league record next year.

They also have the capability to win more European Cups.

If that's not enough to convince LFC to step up a gear, nothing is.

Even if there are no additions to Manscum for next season, it's hard to see who could possibly beat them to the title. Actually, make that plural - Premiership and Champions League....
Can't see Chavski have the hunger to do it next season - too many want away. Arsenal - I reckon they're gonna lose the heart ofthe team....
LFC ? Haven't seen or heard any rumours or facts ANYWHERE to comfort me that we're gonna be better next season...

And I really, really, REALLY (are you listening Rafa ?) don't want to go another season without challenging for A piece of silverware. I'm tired of the abuse....

Chelsea choked last night.

They hit the post a few times, but Terry slipped like a fool, Anelka's pen was :censored:, and Drogba...what the fook was he thinking?

That was his Zidane moment.

Miffed Ure won for obvious reasons but if you´ve gotta choose someone to screw it up, Terry couldnt have been a better choice.

That said, for Chelsea to win because of Ronalvestite missing his penalty would have been even sweeter!

well he is not the first player to miss a pen and he will not be the last.

Its great to have a bit of fun at him right now but lets hope that we dont regret it in the years to come.

I can think of 2 liverpool players that did not help from the spot in a England game not so long ago.

I do like the one

Mr Chelsea, Mr penalty................great play on words lol

Manhattan has two thoughts.

1- Fergie isn't going to retire until A) he wins Man Utd's 18th and 19th title and B) he wins three or more European Cups.

He has a Liverpool/Paisley chip on his shoulder, the size of the Trafford Centre.

2- We could be seeing a new era of domination from the Premiership's Big Four in the Champions League.

Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal could in theory divide the European Cup between them for several years to come.

Where does the threat come from? Real Madrid are :censored: in Europe. Barca are in turmoil. AC Milan are ageing. Inter are :censored:. Juve are still recovering. Roma are great until they meet Manure. The Germans are :censored:. The French are :censored:. The Portugese are :censored:.

I mean look this:

2005- Liverpool Win
2006- Arsenal finalists
2007- Liverpool finalists
2008- Man U win, Chelsea finalists.

I note with interest the poster who also noted the observation concerning the change in balance of the UCL  :;):

Theres been a lot of vitriol throughout this thread and thats understandable given the finalists but I watched the game and thought it was a good game to watch. I had intended to switch to BB1 for the Apprentice at 9PM but deemed the game good enough to continue watching.

It was a classic game of 2 halves with Chelsea getting battered in the first half and the Mancs pummelled in the 2nd half.

Chelea hit more woodwork than Jewson's and really should have won it in normal time but it had the air of 99 when Bayern dominated the game only for the Mancs to snatch it at the death and didn't Clive revel in reminding us ! ??? He went on and on and on and on about it throughout the game and it detracted from the commentry. NO mention of Liverpool FC whatsoever until Anelka stepped up to take what would prove to be the decisive (or shouid that be indecisive) penalty !

Mind you the Mancs winning on penalties might stop them crawing about our penalty win in 05 but somehow I doubt it. For those who are familiar with the Manc Fans chants they will have heard their famous "We won it 2 times" song belted out with much glee which just about sums up their odious fanbase ???

I doubt UEFA will be in a rush to get back to Moscow with its dull and flat atmosphere. We all knew Chelsea wouldn't sell their allocation but I was surprised that the Mancs didn't either. Maybe all that success in recent years has gone to their heads after all.

Some observations from the game :

1. Evra's elbow on Cole was missed by the people that matter in these things.

2. Chelsea got very little in terms of decisions particaulrly from the assistants.

3. Giggs is playing on memory after a long and illustrious career.

4. Scholes's smack on the nose actually improved his appearance !

5. Ronaldo's high on quality but has no class whatsoever. With past players like Cantona and Beckham we gave them the bird because they were very good players but with Ronaldo it's because he's a :censored: !

6. The FA, SKY and UEFA are so far up Fergies backside they might just possibly be chewing the same gum ! :D

Walk on ...................
