I think england should rely on their wingers because when Portugal attack, their full backs (especially Miguel) goes forward.  That allows space for England to go on a counter-attack with Joe Cole to produce his stunning performance on the left flank and Beckham to whoop a long ball or a cross from the right.

Good news or bad news regarding Deco, depending on your point of view:

Fifa communications director Markus Siegler has stressed that Portugal need not bother trying to get their influential schemer to play in Saturday's encounter.

"There was a phone call and they were clearly told 'forget it'," revealed Siegler.

Frank L'ard hurt his ankle in training yesterday...I wonder if that's a prelude to 'dropping' him?  I've been suspicious on many occasions when a big-name player is out of form that he gets a slight injury so he can't play.  I don't know if I'm too suspicious, but it seems remarkably convenient to me.  Anyway, I hope he doesn't play so Gerrard is let off the leash to control the midfield.

England to go home and rightly so...there is no room in Germay for ugly football. Let's see someone who plays the 'beautiful game' beautifully win it.

That'll p.iss some people off but...(I'm over it!!)

I hope you are right Lionheart, but without Deco, Portugal may not play as beautifully as you would like (certainly didn't against Holland). At this stage though, winning is all that matters.

Força Portugal!  ImageImage

I suggest you take a look at England in terms of diving, you have the likes of Joe Cole, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard who are all prone to having the odd tumble, I'd even stick Crouch in that catergory but I can't say if he goes down too easy or not because he has the bulk of a twig.  :D

I'm going for England 1-1 Portugal and then England bow out on penalties.

Well England are actually good. New Zealand on the other hand are not a football nation, so I lend my support to Portugal and have done for years.

If NZ made the World Cup and played Portugal, sure I'd go for NZ, but that won't be happening anytime soon, if ever. :D

Sounds to me like sour grapes cos your teams have gone home, and Englands still in there with a great chance to win the world cup. We are fighting for glory your just fighting back the tears
