Villareal aren't good away as they are home. Last season they beat Barcelona 3-0, so you can expect similar score line against Everton.

Everton were never realistically going to get past Villareal and conceding 2 at home has pretty much guaranteed that.  However I think they gave a good enough account of themselves, they got in about Villareal and restricted them to very few chances.  The problem was that a quality side like Villareal only need a few chances to hurt you, both their goals had quality written all over them.

You might get away with Weir and Yobo at the back in the prem, but not the champions lge FFS.  Villareal played on Weir every time and thats how they got the first goal.

Everton will get murdered in Spain. I don't give them a chance.  Villareal are notoriously much better at home than away, they beat Barcelona 3-0 there last season.  If Everton sit back they'll eventually be broken down and if they push up they'll be picked off for fun, no chance.

By the way, can you believe that the boy that got Villareal's first goal last night used to be at Birmingham but never got much of a game??  He looked quality

Funny how two of Villareals strikers are Premiership rejects, Forlan and Figueroa.:D

For all you Victor Meldrew fans.

I guess I might as well face the truth
Big Dunc is just too long in the tooth
And his old knees are starting to knock
He's just got too many miles on the clock

Although my long ball tactics seemed to work for a while
We were totally out-classed when they turned on the style
The tie is finished, over, no hope of a saviour
One foot in UEFA.
