Just heard the sad news that Brian Clough has died, aged 69.

Don't know what else to add to that. I'm just really sorry to hear it.

Just about to start a thread when I saw yours
Legendary manager there have been times when I didnt like what he said but his personality and achievments are huge.

A sad loss to football and the end of an era.

Respect

He died at the city hospital in Derby and died of stomach cancer!

The guy was great!! He was a great manager, the best manager never to manage england.

He will be missed and I'll be having a pint in his honour tonight!

The football world is short on likeable characters. There is one less tonight.
Good Night Brian.

just heard the news i remeber one saying he said "i wouldn't say i was the greatest manger but i was in the top 1 " He's been ill for a long time. He'd have been dead last year had he not had his liver replaced. Take notes, George Best. one of the greatest mangers not to mange england will be sadly missed i :(  :(

The man was a legend, that green jumper and all.

The time he clips the pitch invading fan round the ear, CLASSIC.

Very sad to hear the news and he will be dearly missed. I'll never forget the time he punched one of the Forest supporters then met him soon after to kiss and make up. R.I.P

A great manager who took an ordinary side to the top but i must say i lost some respect for him when he came out with those comments about Liverpool fans at Hillsborough but anyway RIP Brian and i will remember you for what you did on the pitch and not what you said off it.
