In my eyes its about unfair as they havent been playing that bad and were unlucky in a few games. Who will they turn to now?

Grant?

Minister of silly talks-----SHUT UP & GET OUT!!   :D

Ah no, I do feel sorry for him, but such is life....

But seriously its the boards fault for appointing him in the first place. Pompey were in a good position, but they needed a scape goat to take the flack for the mass exodus of players they planned to rid from the club (Greed). If they wanted to be competitive, they would have sought a big gun type manager. Adams had no control whatsoever.

Stay away from the booze Tony.............

Adams is a good guy.Always remember him talking about the aftermath of the infamous title deciding match in 89.He admired the fact that despite our devastating loss our players sent a couple of crates of champagne into their dressingroom and wished them well.

He thought that was a class thing to do,and i agree with him.

Nice of him to mention it though.

i met tony adams many years ago, i was staying in the conrad at chelsea harbour, the weekend aresenal won the league by beating everton 4-1, adams scored in this game. anyway i got out the lift on the sunday morning and saw him sitting on a couch in the reception, ray parlour was sat nearby and keown and overmars were standing nearby.

anyway as i walked towards adams he nodded towards me, i said hi and motioned if i could sit down, he said no problem and we sat and chatted for about 15 minutes about football. I found adams to be a top guy, no airs and graces and happy to talk football with a complete stranger. good luck to him.

also lets face it, he was close to turning us over at the weekend

I think its the right thing to do,some people just are not manager material!
The man has aged about 10 years from he took the job....good luck to him,I think he's better out of it!

Agreed.

Saw him grab Ray Parlour on the neck when Ray conceded a penalty against us on his Arsenal's debut. Encouraging him on.
Great piece of captaincy.
But I don't particularly think he'll succeed as a manager.
He had a go as manager with Wycombe. Didn't do too well there.

Deserved the sack.

He is not a good manager, he took over when Portsmouth were in eighth position. He failed in last job too and has no success as a manager.

He might be a good number two and worked well with Harry Redknapp, maybe he'd be a good appointment for spurs.

Surprised he is a bad manager because he was probably the best organiser on the pitch I've seen. He really controlled the back four and the holding midfielders. It just goes to show that you can never tell what playes will be good managers.

Any idea why no recent footballers have succeeded (Steve Bruce probably the last, and he got relegated at Birmingham)

It was a question of time.
