Its just painful to see how well we were doing and now I expect us to slip up at every opportunity. I'm no doom and gloomer but that's how it seems at the moment. Rafa ranting about whiskey nose, Gerrard getting arrested, Danny Agger off to Milan, the Mancs go top, Rafas contract situation. It seems everythings going downhill at the moment :(

The strange thing is is that we have the ability to beat everyone around us. we just cant seem do it consistently for 38 games

Yeah true seems no consistency in our 38 games. Fews seasons i was convinced rafa is only good for is in the champions league. He can manipulate the two legged games very well and is suited to that competition but what got me thinking is that how did he manage to win the spanish title then??!
For valencia i think his mindset was different, i dont know, but for us rafas champions league record is very good compared to the premiership one. Will see what happens come may.

I've got to be honest I really like Rafa, his character and his tactial know how are great. He really loves this club as well as he's shown on a number of occasions. I reckon he should stay with us because he seems to hold key to a decent team spirit. The players love him as do the fans(well, most of), but christ he doesn't half frustrate me at times with team selections and decisions

When rafa won the title with valencia they did draw alot of games and the other teams dropped alot of points.

Final 2001/2002 Spanish Primera Liga Table

P     HW   HD   HL  HGF   HGA   AW  AD  AL   AGF   AGA  Points   GD
Valencia      38    14     4    1     28     8      7    8     4    23     19     75      +24
Deportivo     38    13    4     2     40    13     7    4     8    25     28     68      +24
Real Madrid   38    14    5     0     48    14     5    4    10   21     30     66      +25
Barcelona     38    12    5     2     44    17     6    5     8    21     20     64      +28
Celta Vigo     38   10     5    4     36     21     6    7    6    28     25     60       +18

Makes one wonder how many losses did real madrid and barca have. 10 for all the teams except valencia. All were absolutely shyte that season. I think thats the reason why valencia won the title that year. I cant see mannure and chelsea losing that many games. I think thats the reason why rafa stated the only way we will win the title is if the others drop alot of points.

Also another thing i have realized that rafa with his teams does tend to draw alot of matches. That season valencia drew 12 games in total. Majority being away though as thier home record was pretty good.

In his other title win valencia didnt draw many games but did lose alot and yet again the other teams dropped alot of points as you could see.

Final 2003/2004 Spanish Primera Liga Table

P   HW   HD  HL   HGF  HGA  AW   AD  AL  AGF  AGA  Points  GD
Valencia      38    12    3   4    38     16    11    5    3    33    11     77    +44
Barcelona    38    10    6   3    33     14    11    3    5    30    25     72    +24
Deportivo     38    13   3   3    36     15    8      5    6    24    19     71    +26
Real Madrid   38    13   2   4    43     26    8      5    6    29    28     70    +18

Barca recorded 8 losses, real 10 and deportive 9.. Some title race one must think.

This was la liga but one must think though would the situation have to be like this for rafa to land us the title??

interesting stuff...

basically until abrahamovic decides to sell chelsea and ferguson decides to hang his whiskey bottle and Wenger decides to start playing infants we wont be winning jack sht under Benitez...

English league is alot harder to win than the spanish league imo... u cant go out looking to draw any game, have to go for the 3 points every single game and if it means getting beat while attmpting a win then so be it... not rafas style im afraid

Yeah thats the way i see it aswel. Premier league is more difficult and anyhow i just cant see mannure or chelsea dropping so many points like the way real, barca, deportivo did when valencia won the title. They are both different leagues but considering how rafa won it twice with valencia in the manner he did i just cant see the same happening with the premiership. I feel rafa knows the way he won la liga is the only way he can win the prem. Thats why he did say recently the only way we will win the league is if mannure and chelsea drop points.

I don't believe anymore , infact i've decided i want man u to do the quadruple . Then we can go back to what we do best and sack the manager and be also rans . It's alot easier critisizeing when we are actually a sh!t team . Maybe people on this board will feel better about themselves come the end of the season ,so they can say i told you so .

Bit of a Mavis Riley moan that Igor. :D

Surely you've gotta see we're running in thick mud at the moment.
The draws are a serious concern

I said no like 3 weeks ago just knew we didn't have the legs this season we need new manager one with attack minded thoughts and some one that can spend a transfer budget right !

Then just then we might stand a chance.

You don't win the prem with Facts and draws and thats a FACT !
