In relation to bavlondon, aguero is a striker isnt he? he plays just behind the front man or right up with him on his shoulder, he isnt a midfielder! And houllier took a chance with diouf and diao, look where that left him!!!!

Whatever happens im gonna back houllier on his decision as he hasnt been wrong too often in the transfer window, with perhaps only josemi and nunez (who was just landed on us) the only poor signings!

look at garcia momo alonso crouch reina fowler and to an extent agger zenden and kromkamp, they have all been decent signings whther for the first team or the squad so i think rafa knows what he is doing!

I remember reading that as well, him mentioning Chelsea. I don't know how much of a Liverpool fan Aguero is, if he's even talking about Chelsea as a team he would like to play for. I live in Argentina,  and this is the first time I've heard anything about an affection fro LFC. He gets a fair amount of press here as well. I haven't seen him play many times (I don't follow the Argentinian league too much. I find it boring at times, and it's not at the same level as European leagues), but this kid is definitely a talent. I don't know if his goal against Racing last year was included in any of the clips posted or some from the summer tournament in MDP, but those definitely stand out in my mind. As far as his game goes - he's quick, two footed, has great driblling ability, and knows how to  "amagar" (I don't know the exact translation in english, but yeah), overall just a dangerous player. He would be a good prospect, but at over 10 million pounds - a big risk. That's insane money for an unproven player.  Independiente are praying he gets called up to the national team and has a place on the plane to Germany, so they can raise his price tag even further. I don't see that happening, but you never know. Realistically, I don't see us signing him. Many people have already stated why. That's just my opinion, though.

Anyway, Independiente have another rising star in Ustari. Goalkeeper. People are asking for him to be considered for the national team as well. If we ever did go in for Aguero, wouldn't mind trying to work out a deal for Ustari as well. Rate him higher than Carson from what I have seen of both of them, and it seems Carson wants to leave the club in search of first-team football. Another young striker playing in the Argentinian leagues tipped to be a great player is River Plate's Falcao. He, too, would be a gret prospect. The Argentinan league is a good place to look for talent, LFC should explore it more.

Aguero is top scorer for Independiente, 6 goals in 13 matches, their website says he is a striker. Probably a second striker like Messi.

If it's not, here it is :D .

Aguero Goal

He is a striker, and one of the current top scorers in the league at the moment. The torneo Clausura in Argentina (most leagues here in south america divide the season in two, apertura and clausura so theres a winner in apertura, clausura and also a team that wins the national title by the point tally of both) at the moment is one of the most competitive leagues I have seen in a long time. Any team can win at the moment, River is first place with 25 points yet the team on 7th place has 20 points. With that said, Aguero is one of the best players in that league.

He also is the youngest player to make debut on the first division at 15 years of age. If he could make his debut in Argentina at that age, I dont see why he would not be able to play in England.

I fu#king hope that we pursue this guy to the very ends of the earth. Owen for 10-14, or Aguero for 9-16 (depending on who else enters the race), I know who I would choose!

Well Rafa has publicly acknowledged him now so lets sit tight and wait. Rafa knows talent when he sees it and im sure he will try for him but he wont be conned out.

I think if we do get him Paletta will be the key to us signing him. I sure being a young boy also they will feel comfortable that they are both from the same country and can settle in together well. Maybe this is already in progress.

I also tink the boys attitude is going to be a key part. He must be commited to worjing with Rafa and being part of a team. He must have a good sense of decorum on the pitch. This is someting that Rafa spots well in players. Agger, Alonso all seem like real gentelemen on the pitch when they play.

Ill keep my fingers crossed but this lads future is going to be a hot topic after the world cup, assuming that a deal isnt sown up for him before.

why oh why do we start these long posts

Theo Walcott anyone???

I'm a red and my dad was one too (and we all know how that turned out)

I would love us to sign this guy but it will not happen

Rafa has been buying youth recently and its a crying shame that we cannot go and buy one of the most promising young players in the world

Problem is that any club knows that Chelsea do not play fair and will tout their players too them as well to drive up the price

I would love to be proven wrong but it will simply not happen

:no

Liverpool - Star's plea
02 Apr 2006 11:28

17 year old Independiente midfielder Sergio Aguero, being chased by Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid, has issued a 'come-and-get-me' plea to Liverpool.

Despite the interest of clubs across Europe, Aguero feels that Rafa Benitez is the man to bring him on at Anfield.

"I know every player in the current Liverpool squad. I would be proud if Benitez went for me," said Aguero.

We might as well sign the lad because he's been practically begging to join us and begging Rafa to sign him, so I don't see why not, altho will Rafa want to pay in the region of £10million pounds for a youth player who hasn't had much experience? That's the question.
