I know it's been generalised, (All of the French Players Houllier Signed)

But one stands out for me a £3m purchase of World Cup Winner.... Bernard Diomede, three year contract, upwards of £15, maybe even £20k per week played and i'm guessing half a dozen games

Pound for pound I suppose Nanny got it right with Frank McGarvey who never played a game for us, although it could be argued that some of the players who played a lot of games for us did more damage........ Phil Babb for example?

Why people mentioning names like ferri and peggy ?

Did they really arrive with massive reputations and have storming starts only to bomb out after a season ?

Wasn't Ferri supposedly bought as a dressing room spy or something? Or was that just a rumour to explain an inexplicable signing

which players that you initally rated and thought would become great players ended up letting you down so to say .
