Since when are Chelsea our arch-rivals??

Everton and United are our biggest rivals in that order.  Chelsea just happen to be minding the league trophy for us at the moment.

Liverpool don't like Chelsea, Chelsea don't like Liverpool, Benitez and Mourinho are two young, talented managers, I'd call that a rivalry.

A rivalry is different from being arch rivals.  We're rivals in that we'll both be competing for the title next season.  But an arch rivalry is different and goes much deeper than just competition.  Only 'fans' who have been following Liverpool for the last one or two years tops would actually consider Chelsea to be our 'arch-rivals'.

And you're also wrong that Chelsea don't like Liverpool and Liverpool don't like Chelsea.  Actually it's more that Mourinho doesn't like Liverpool because he feels threatened by Benitez.  Benitez on the other hand is completely indifferent to Mourinho which is what winds the Portuguese man up most.

I think riise lacks a bit of pace when turning. He's good going forward and has a mean left foot. Our defence lacks a bit of height and pace does anyone know if aurelio has any of these attributes.

i agree Murphy, i've never seen him track a runner in his whole career,

Does anyone have a feeling that we will be looking for another right winger next summer (2007)
i just dont believe Pennat will cut the mustard?

i really dont beleive that. And even if there is any substance to the story are Chelsea that dumb to want one of our players after rejecting our bid for Duff? or putting us of SWP ?

Chelsea are not our arch-rivals but were a thorn to their side as they are to ours. I would consider Mourinho and Benitez to be arch-rivals though since, as John Craig stated they are both young successful coaches of tho of the best teams at the moment. It does seem that Mourinho is the one that attacks Rafa and Liverpool but Rafa's responses do seem to wind him up (the whole he tals about us cause hes afraid).

On the Riise debate, I think he is a good player, although not the best player on the squad. I doubt Rafa will sell him as he likes versatile players that can play a number of positions. I also doubt that Aurelio will be our first choice all the time as Rafa will most likely be rotating the squad frequently. He also seems injury prone and we still have to see how well he does in the league so I would worry more about Aurelio than Riise for now.
