I rate Garcia too, but lately he seems to be on a completely different wavelength to the rest of the team. He repeatedly makes a clever little pass that fools everybody ,unfortunately that includes his team mates. Perhaps it's still a question of his team mates still learning to anticipate Garcia's play but until that happens perhaps it would be better if he played the simple ball .

So did Jan, but he did pretty well for us !!  :D

i take your point big mick, but its seems contradictory to say that as we'll get no money for him and his wages are cheap we should keep him, but if we have to play him our squad is too small.

we either have to keep him and give him occaisional games on merit or sell him for whatever. our strike force has just strengthened dramatically - we have moro and milan as the top 2 and pongo as third now (i would imagine). we're beyond the stage where mellor is going to contribute in the league cup and i don't see him getting too many prem games now.

maybe its best to keep the lad until summer - just in case - then let him go and get the regular first team football he deserves at his own level.

I'd hang onto him at least until Cisse is back on his feet.

if one bad game means that we start to sell  the player well in that case we should have sold harry kewell a long time ago and Josemi Josemi and Antonio Nunez so i say leave him alone the boys doing good and dont forget that he won the Arsenal game for us and has plyed well in most games he has been in , this is the most football he has had in a long time and he is getting fitter with every game.

2000 - 2001. Danny Murphy - 10 goals in all compititions.
2001 - 2002. Danny Murphy - 10 goals in all compititions.
2002 - 2003. Danny Murphy - 12 goals in all compititions from 44 appearances in all compititions 4 as a sub.
2003 - 2004. Danny Murphy - 7 goals in all compititions.

Thats not including the assists. If you really want me to embarress you furthur i'll drag those up and the goals he's had disallowed.

Your biased views towards certain players are pathetic and disrespectful. I could also point out unlike your bum boy, Danny didn't go missing at old trafford. He infact won us games there, NOT A GAME, but GAMES!

Banana, what you clearly fail to do when you make rediculous comments is realise there are two sides to every story, a right one and a wrong one, its just everytime you post, you post the wrong one. :p

Luis Garcia

Click on that link, you'll see that Luis Garcia hasn't played 14 games. He's played 22. And to me, for a drop off striker (NOT A MIDFIELDER) 5 from 22 isn't that impressive. :)

Wisen up lad. I am talking about league goals and league appearances. Garcia has playerd 14 league games and scored 5 goals. Murphy managed 14 league goals in 3 seasons. That is a fact. When we talk about apples, you start counting peaches.

Case closed.

The LFC tv report:

BLADES REVIVE MELLOR INTEREST
Paul Eaton 13 January 2005
Sheffield United have revived their interest in Neil Mellor following the news that Liverpool are close to signing Spanish striker Fernando Morientes.
The Blades were keen to sign Mellor before Christmas but the Reds were unwilling to let him go as they were struggling for fit centre forwards at the club.

Now with Milan Baros fit and Morientes set to arrive, United boss Neil Warnock has admitted he still has an interest in the Liverpool striker.

He said: "If Neil is available, we will be definitely interested."

I agree. At this rate Garcia will score more goals in the League than Murphy has in the three seasons he has been here. Thats a fact

Another fact is Luis Garcia is a strike, Murphy a midfielder.

Another fact is Murphy has done it. Luis Garcia hasn't.

Another fact, Luis Garcia's been a waste of space in most of the games he's played this season.

I do not know which of you is the more stupid on this issue, ?Banana for his obvious hatred of all things English/Houllier related or Stu for blindly backing distinctly average players to the hilt.
