Sir Roger wrote:Why do we need new players?

If we lose Insua to injury who on earth will replace him? If Torres is out injured is it acceptable to rely on a 21 year old inexperienced striker to get us the vital goals needed? We need to strengthen our squad for next seasons campaign. That said I do agree with the poster who says regardless if we strengthen or not we need to have a better season than last season.

This is disgraceful if true.  No money at all and we can't spend money raised from player sales?

And people honestly blame Rafa for our issues?  We should keep anyone that wants to stay here.

This is ridiculous. Didn't Broughton just say only a month ago that substantial tranfer funds would be made available this summer?

They are trying to pull the wool over our eyes which I must say stopped working months ago for some people and a year or two ago for the more observant fan.

Though one has to admire them for their sheer persistence, it's a bit like the Tony Blair & George W. Bush; Iraq act all over again but in the realms of football, not International Politics.

Hicks is more like Bagdad Bob telling everything is peachy while everyone else can see things are falling apart around him...

Just amazing to believe it is down to Rafa if money is there for investment or not.

Rafa leaves and all off a sudden Hicks and Gillet are going to open their wallets... :no

Good argument on the radio, about a caller wants us to do an Arsenal. Just play the youngsters around Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Mash, Gerrard, Torres. But to be fair I can see about 6/7 players leaving.

After Tom Hicks said Rafa Benitez would have a substantial transfer budget he is reported to be given Rafa just 5m.

Better start looking in the basement of Primark Rafa lad.
