Can't wait for this game!
You have got to feel fernando torres being really up for this one.....i just hope gerrard is back (although not rushed back to soon).

Since 2005 after the magical game against olympiacos.....we have beaten Bayern Leverkusen, Juventus, Cheslea (2), PSV, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Arsenal...all in the knockout stages......i think it's time Real Madrid were added to that list!

Van der Vart is a Knobjockey and his team are over paid and over

Real Madrid is a very dangerous opponent at the moment. they're still riding their momentum; they jumped up from 6 or 7th place at the end of the year to 2nd place, and as much as i hate to admit, they will be troublesome later this month.
I hope for a draw in the first leg, and Liverpool victory on the second.
i just want to see the bitter expression on Ramos's face.

I hoping for a 2-0 victory in the first leg so we could rotate and rest a few players for the return at anfield....
But knowing rafa he probably will give the champs league priority again!

That would be showing Real a serious lack of respect.

The same could be said for you hoping for a 2-0 victory away to Real.

I think we'll probably win both games 1-0.

I  think we'll get beat but win the league  :p

Just wanted to be different

My heart tells me I want to win both but my brain says that if we keep progressing in the CL our league chances are going to go out the window

Saying that, lets t.wat the c.unts  :D

I'd settle for losing this CL tie and winning the league instead. I think the CL will prove a distraction and take it's toll if it continues - Rafa rotation, injury, fatigue, prioritising etc.

Balancing Act Goes Wrong?

04/05 Champions League Winners
5th in Premiership, 58 points

05/06 Champions League last 16
3rd in Premiership, 82 points (record points tally)

06/07 Champions League Runners-Up
3rd in Premiership, 68 points (same as 4th)

07/08 Champions League Semi-Final
4th in Premiership, 76 points

So when we reach the CL final we average 63 points and finished 5th and 3rd (just). When we failed relatively speaking we averaged 79 points and finished 3rd and 4th. That's a 16 point difference, some of it down to writing off the rest of our Premiership season and preparing for the final, but it takes more than just one or two games to notch up 16 points. Fair enough we are only 14 points shy of that 68 point mark with 13 games to go so should pass that easily, but we picked up less than 20 points from the last 13 games in both CL final seasons compared to 33 points average in the other two seasons................................... funny how our strong finishes coincide with no CL final.

If Manchester United could win the double, so can Liverpool.

Kan, we dont follow Manure son, they envy our five cups.

The good news is for this game, we have sufficient spanish players and management to be highly motivated to do Real

Feck them and feck you..  :D

I said im hoping for a 2-0 victory even if its a miracle.. I know it will be a tough match and who knows maybe we will come back with a draw. All i stated was what i would pray of what would happen..

Premiership is our priority so if we do have the privilege of building a lead in the first leg then why not rest a few players in the second leg.. Its logic mate...

i didn't mean to compare Liverpool to manchester.
but speaking of which, I don't always see envy as a bad thing, it could be a source of motivation. maybe manchester's envy for Liverpool's five cups motivated them to win the doubles last year.
i maybe naive to soccer, but my point is, we should be more hopeful.
and i agree with you that Liverpool has great players, including the three internationals for Spain, enough to demolish the likes top teams from top leagues.
