I agree too. I don't know why I keep thinking it was Morientes who chose to leave rather than Benitez selling him. I think being left out of the spanish squad really hurt him.

Benitez is a tough man and he has made a lot of bold decisions in his time here. I think his ruthlessness will see him win the Premiership at Liverpool.

It wasn't intentional but he seemed to lose heart part-way through this season. I remember when he scored against Fulham he hardly celebrated, not because he didn't care, just because he was more relieved than elated. It will be an even bigger relief for him to leave the Premiership.
I wish him well, he came with high hopes, but you win some you lose some. This one simply didn't work out. All the best Nando.

Posted: Thu May 25, 2006 9:05 pmBenitez proves that he's ruthless once again. I've heard that he's a good friend of Nando but obviously that didn't stop Benitez from giving him the boot.
I do feel sorry for him, his family have just now settled and he really did want to prove himself. However at the end things didn't work out and it's a good move imo. BigMick was right when he said that he wouldn't settle in. However when we signed him most people were happy after his season at Monaco.
