I for one wish Stevie G all the luck in the world. He has been great for our club, and has clawed us out of the sh.it many a time. I do not know how this has happened, all I know is that I am dissapointed as a Liverpool football fan by Stevie G:

1 - declaring after the Champions League Final "How can I leave after this"
2 - and more disturbingly professing after the Champions league final in the press conference that he pretty much played sh.it for most of last season and promised that next season we will see the real Stevie G.

What this does mean now though is that we will truly see the real business accument of messrs Parry and Moores, here we have the most valuable crown jewels (financially) that this club has had for years, and they MUST make sure that they get the BEST POSSIBLE DEAL for LFC!! by that I mean no less than 38 mill - 40 mill.

So let the fu.ckin bidding war commence, we will move onwards and upwards from here, of that I a sure.

Viva la Rafalution :buttrock

BIGMICK i was thinking of posting the exact same thing, it would show the man urinal fans the glazers mean business.
Gerrard I'm sure would actually be scared to make that move though, and so he should be!!!

I can see why Gerrard has become so unsettled at the club. We're losing our british core day by day. The 2001 treble was based around our then british players - Owen, fowler, heskey, carra, mcallister, murphy, gerrard, barmby. Now all that will be left are carra and finnan. Surely people can understand that Stevie was becoming increasingly dissolusioned in such a foreign environment, his relationships with his fellow team mates simply wasnt there, and as a result the passion and the drive fizzled out. The same situation is unfolding with Henry at Arsenal, however in this case Henry has chosen to stay no doubt cause of the influence of his fellow french men. Tis not anybodys fault as such, its just an environment he's not comfortable in. Which is probably why I think he'll be a shadow of his former self should he end up at Madrid.

Not that this is the only reason; SFX no doubt share some of the responsibilty. It pisses me off how sports have turned into large money making machines, not only apparent in Footy but in F1 with that farce of a US GP that I paid £125 quid to see.

Anyway, Stevies history, pay tribute to what hes done for this club, especially over the last 2 years. The argument that he's been stringing the club along for the last 2 years is ridiculous, if it wasnt for him we wouldnt even have made the CL proper last season. Stevie G will always be a legend in my  book. Roll on next season.

JBG fu*kin superb post, every word spot on mate and u couldnt have put it better.

And look at this quote from Rick Parry:

"People might think winning the Champions League is a good marker that this club is moving in the right direction. I told him to think of the fans, to think of Istanbul and to think of the twelfth man which has been with us all season".

How could he leave after Parry said that.

I said this in another thread i think. i said that no matter wot u say about some of gerrards perfomaces and that stats show that we're better without him but at the end of the day i think that we will be more stable in the premership but we wont have that someone special in a knockout competition that can jus change the game. We had that in Owen he left. We had that in Gerrard his leaving.

and i cnt help feeling that the every time the club moves foward it takes 2 steps backwards first.

i jus hope rafas got a plan up his sleeve.

i know what you`re saying mate but at the end of the day they both chose to leave us not the other way round.
if it was up to the club they`d still both be here because to be fair to liverpool we`re not in the habit of offloading players for profit.
witnessing those scene`s at the homecoming was something special and if they wish to leave support like that then good riddance to any player who wants to.
i dont think its a liverpool thing, i think ferdinands agent is probably trying to find a club whilst stalling on the deal united has offered him. i think its just the way modern footballers are, thats why when you do find true loyalty like in jamie carragher we should applaud it all the more.

I think that as an Irishman Finann would think he's a bit more than a technical foreigner.  :D

My point is that Irish people see themselves as different from English people as dogs are different to cats so I reckon Steve Finnan would consider himself slightly more than "technically" a foreigner!  :D  :D  :D

tomorrow will be a significant day in the gerrard thing just like today was. I reckon clubs will bid for gerrard for tomorrow and the bidding war will begin chelsea will probably bid and real madrid will follow with a higher bid and other clubs might come in and so on and we sell him to the highest bidder which should be in a few days
