anyone who thinks hamann is sh*t clearly doesnt understand the game. these people think to be a good midfielder you have to attack like mad, score goals, 50 yard passes every 2 minutes. midfiled isnt just about that.
i cant believe i'm having to say this

I think that at 8 million, Hamann was Houlliers second best signing behind Hyppia. Just about the best pure holding midfield player in the Premiership IMHO. I think he's certainly better than Makelele but the very best defensive midfielders (Vierra, Keanne etc) do a little more going forward if we're being picky. Should we sell him? Don't make me laugh, he is one of the best players at the club. If we start flogging blokes like him without top quality replacements its a downward spiral. We're not talking Murphy here (who I didn't mind FWIW but 3 mill was a good price), this bloke is class.

Its  strange with hamann, cause with Garcia and Alonso, Hes having to play a more attacking style, im not sure if it suits him. I hate that term...."holding midfielder". holding what? yer mums shopping? Just get forward will ya, and let them worry about us!

Arsenal dont play like that, and neither should we.

I can't believe there are supporters of LFC who can't see the value of Hamann to our team.Xabi Alonso couldn't have wished for a better man alongside to help him settle into the team.

hamann is ordinary, and its not cause he doesnt run around, and score 50 goals a season from midfield, he has no pace at all, he just sits there in a defensive position and no never fancied him at all, and its my opinion the same way u think hes needed, so we'll see what happens

I rather see Hamann next to Alonso then Biscan and I'm a Croat. ???

Hamann is the reason why we are not getting beaten every game. Carra & Hyppia will not be able to cope without hamann providing cover for them. If we have to sell hamann, we have to buy better centrebacks.

nuff said.

we'll c, i guess til we buy better centre he'll do, though he wasn't needed when gerrard and alonso were both fit so in that way i see that as a good sign, 4 me personally i wouldn't miss him if he left

If we're going to go down the road of picking the team for a manager who's been there for five minutes, we might as well sack the man now and get Keegan in. At least he'd have got rid of Traore, a player who every Liverpool fan knows should never have got through the door.
