there was never much of an emotional relationship between the club, the fans and owen anyway. he was never taken too like fowler was, or even torres in his short time here. he's just another footballer now. and one that could do a useful job for us in a position we need in the short term we need to cover.

i can't be bothered anymore about being a laughing stock either. i've stopped reading most press articles that allow comments as i'd seen enough people ripping the píss out of liverpool to last me a lifetime. lets just get the necessary done and move forward. we'll wipe the smirks of their faces soon enough.

Wouldn't want any of the mercenary problem ridden fkrs near the place! Would rather take my chances with escaping relegation

Owen is being offered 30 grand a week at Stoke and will go there.

And none of our strikers in the youth team or ressies ate good enough yet.

in truth mate i dont see Drogba ever coimg to the club but Owen could be here by the end of the day.

Drogba had is contract terminated, no one is sure why but it might be due to him going out all the time and the club said he was not keeping fit....thats why he is free.

30k a week? i rip their had off if i was him.

Drogba's contract hasn't been cancelled - he is still registered as a Shanghai player. Please stop believing twitter rumours

you know this for definate how?

The fact remains we need someone and Owen's goals to games ratio is as good as anyone's. Even if we were to offer him a one season contract, that would be better than what we've got now. At the moment we've got the form of relegation candidates, so any striker coming in today would be met with a huge sigh of relief by me.

Some advice for posters, don’t believe a word that lakes10 writes. He really has a bad case of verbal diarrhoea and just posts every rumour he comes across as fact.
