12 million dollars a year doesn't seem like much to me. Especially for being  the best players on one of the best teams in the best league in the best sport in one of the richest countries in the world.  FFS Beckham is making about 10 in direct salary per year with endorsements kicking it up to 50.  If Hicks was willing to shell out 25 mill a year for A-rod, then by comparison simply based on impact on team not revenue, wage trends, or demand (which I am guessing it is based on) then Stevie should be making 35 to 40 million dollars a year.
(to switch from dollars to pounds just cut the number in half cuz the pound is pwning the dollar right now)
