Good servant to the club, always put in and gave 100%. Always liked the lad but Rafa clearly doesn't think he has a future at the club and a move to a mid-table premiership club like Blackburn is good for him. Add to that we've made a decent profit on him (considering he's come up from the academy) and it's a good deal for all concerned.

Good luck Stephen mate.  :)

Good luck to the lad. Showed a great deal of character to come back from two shocking injuries.

It would have been interesting to see what Stephen Warnock could have done for us given a run of games but unfortunately he's never been fit enough to last that long.

Anyone know what the fee is?

yeah good luck to him he's a good solid a defender but seems to have been very unlucky with injuries - also got told today that apparently Liverpool have put in a bid of 10m for Gareth Bale. I haven't given this it's own thread as i can't find anything online about this although my mates brother's a Saints season ticket holder so it may have some truth (or may not).

£10m for a seventeen year old is :censored: crazy money, considering Alves was going for around 12million in the summer and that guy is the best attacking fullback in the world.

I know St Mike but being young adds on £3m and being British adds on £3m. Its today's market, going crazy again.

I'd pay it though me, Wenger would.

it's one thing paying 10m for a 17 year old- but have we got that kind of money?

I would love him to come to us but £10million is way too much, thats a Chelski price.

it would not be us. crazy money. the guys good, but 10 million? it'll be a manure 10m plus loan him back to southampton for 18months maybe, thats what i reckon. We need someone more like Alves and would pay the extra couple of million for him im sure.

It probably wouldnt be 10 million upfront, it would be like the Walcott deal with adds on based on appearances and things.
He looks a great prospect and his goals from freekicks be useful.

Apparently we get an additional 30 million if Warnock plays a full 90 minutes in ten consecutive games. :D

To compare Bridges chances of game with Warnocks is quite something given he has Cole to compete with. If anyone genuinely believes we have a full back in the class of Cole then the red tinted glasses are glued on.

Finnan is a better full back than Cole
