We're Champions of Europe remember ? Despite the qualities Crouch and Johnson may posess I would be disappointed if we didn't push on and sign players of a much higher calibre .
Rafa will have some money at his disposal , I wouldn't want to see it frittered away on players who have (IMO) still got a lot to prove . Can we please sign some real "stars" for a change ?
(no pun intented with the "real stars " bit .

You were going to get Rafa`s old friend - Olivera who worked under him at Valencia - If you get CL next year which IMO you will and should .. but Real Betis are also in the CL so maybe he will stay.
It was almost a done deal.
Sell Baros and get Forlan.
Forlan + Cisse + Fernando = lots of goals.

Well I've been watching the England kickabout in the US and have seen nothing to make me ammend my opinion. Crouch can play. He doesn't look out of his depth at this level to me and we could do a whole lot worse. If, and it is an if, Rafa does think he can do a job then I for one would tend to agree with him.

I agree BigMick he gives us different dimensions in attack.Like his hieght that is the best thing about him.He can run and everthing else,he's got good first touch aswell.I seen his goal against Norwich and what a first timer it was.He would do good at Liverpool(i think)but it would take long for him to fit in.If Rafa buys him i will agree with him.

I haven't seen quite enough of Crouch to have a total opinion on the lad but have to admit he did well for England this evening.
Some players can do it in the premiership, but then they're thrown into international football and they look utterly out of place - James Beattie knocked them in left right and center for Saints but looks way out of his league playing for England. I also felt (and i know it's early) Andy Johnson looked the same in the time he played against the US on Saturday.
Crouch on the other hand, did not look out of his depth. He won every high ball that came his way (as you would expect) but showed he could bring the ball down, link up and make a bit of space for himself at this level. I was quite impressed by the lad.
Not saying he is THE answer but a few have been WAY to quick to laugh at the idea of signing the lad. Not many fans (of the big clubs) were demanding their team sign Michael Carrick at the start of the season but on the evidence of his two performances for England (not to mention an excellent season for Spurs) £3million looks a snip for a player who looked like Xabi Alonso tonight.

good shout was thinkin the same about carrick and alonso tonight cos he looked absolute class even without hansen lickin his danglies. xabis obviously better tho cos i believe he plays in red which apparently makes you a better sportsman
